xbox one tv and one guide difficulty

so i have my xbox one upstairs and my satellite box downstairs. to set the one guide up you have to connect a hdmi cable from your xbox one to your satellite box. i am mad cause one of the cool things on the xbox one is the oneguide and i want to use it.
Can anyone tell me how to some how fix this pronlem?

Xbox App (Beta) One Guide

Does any one else have difficulty scrolling through the TV listings on the One Guide? One scroll of the mouse wheel equals pages and pages of scrolling. I see this problem on both the Xbox app and the Xbox App (Beta)

Xbox one TV guide

I can not get the xbox one TV guide on or find set up for it . I have done every thing else , can't find the set up for it any where

You have to keep the cable box hooked up to the Xbox One. You cannot hook it up to set it up and unhook it and expect it to work. Also, go into the tv and one guide settings in the settings menu and make sure that you have entered your zip code and selected
your tv provider. After that you should be all set.

In other words if you have a satellite box downstairs and no other tv receivers then you will have to hook it up downstairs if you want the tv stuff to work.

I'm not familiar with the TV One guide as I do not use it, however I have found a couple of support links that should help you out. The third link is about how to record programs using the one guide and your xbox remote controller but by accessing a Skybox
etc..

Unfortunately I don't think you can record programs from the one guide straight to an external hard drive.

I get the TV Guide now, but I can't change channels using my xbox remote or the one guide TV listing.
