Xbox One turns straight off.

Hey!

I’ve recently been asked by my neighbour to try fix his old xbox one, he wants to use it for sky go and netflix etc. It turns straight off after you try to turn it on, there’s the opening chime, then it cut. I’ve used compressed air, a hairdryer (as said by the internet) and have also power looped a few times. Nothing works. Do i have to bite to bullet and buy a new power supply?

Hi Lucas,

It still does the same thing, there is an orange light on the power brick, however when i go to turn it on, it flips on and off before going back to default state, off with an orange light.

But this without the console connected? If just keeps a orange light, right?

Then when you try to connect it to the console and power it on it flips on and off?

We’re going to borrow someone’s power supply and see how it goes. If it works we’re just going to buy a new one, otherwise we’re going to replace the console.

This might be a power supply issue, but since it remains orange when you plug the power supply to the console without turning it on, I think this is an issue with the console.

If you can borrow other power supply to test, that would be great. It would rule out if this is a power supply issue or not. Please keep me posted on how it goes.
