Xbox one turns self off when booting up

Hi all.. as the topic says.. Came in this evening and switched on my xbox one.. when its on the xbox logo it makes the chime noise as if someone has touched the button at the front and then shuts down.

I have tried the PSU from my other xbox one same thing happens. I have disconnected everything apart from power and hdmi and still it will turn its self off.

Its starting up cold so its not a heat issue.. was working perfectly last time it was used.

Whats up with it !?

The xbox was the day one edition if this helps.

I meant turn off the console and turn it on again, but sign in before booting up the game. And there is no way to clear the cache on the Xbox One.

Xbox One Shuts Everything Off at Start up

I am having an issue with my Xbox One shutting off my TV and receiver at start up. Everything turns on initially, but at the black screen (just after the green screen) when the Kinect is booting up with the system, Xbox One shuts down the TV and receiver.
Any advice?

Hey there!

Thanks for the support message.

Please make sure the console is plugged directly into a wall outlet as plugging the console into a surge protector and/or an extension cord can effect console performance. Since you have already tried to use another PSU, then you may also want to try another
outlet just to make sure that outlet hasn't gone bad.

I've had the same problem. Day One Edition as well. I contacted support and they have said that it needs to be sent back for exchange. This looks like a pretty common problem reading through the first few pages of threads. Reminds me of the red ring of death
on the 360. At least they extended the warranty to cover that specific error instead of having to shell out another £100 for an exchange.

The Xbox One self-updates when set to the "instant-on" power mode. If this mode is set to "power saver" then you will get update prompts when you boot up the console and the boot up time is increased to about 1 minute.

This happened to me. I turned off my Xbox One and unplugged it for a minute and when it booted back up, everything worked. Hope this helps!!!

The Xbox One has 2 power modes. The first is "Instant-On" mode in which the console is in a low power state in order to update in the background and boot-up in less than 10 seconds when you turn it on(Power Brick light is white when off)). The second option
is "Energy-Saver" and this results in the console turning completely off when you power it down. In this mode, the console does not update itself while off and it takes about a minute to boot-up the system when turned on (Power Brick light is orange when off).
