    Xbox One turns on with screen already dimmed


    This has been happening for a couple weeks now. I turn on my Xbox One and already my screen is dimmed and when i move around and try to click apps the screen does not brighten up. this is extremely irritating because i have to turn off my Xbox, wait for
    a bit, and then turn it back on to fix this. You need to fix this now microsoft because i'm just about ready to switch to the PS4

    screen is dimmed when watching movie on Xbox One

    Hi there,

    Sinds the update to window 10 layout on Xbox one the screen is dimmed when watching/streaming a movie on Xbox One.

    It look likes a sort of screensaver. I have to touch the xbox control and then the screen turns good.. and after a while the dimmed screen is turning up again.

    Can't find any setting about it to turn this off when watching a (stream)movie.

    How to fix this?

    My XBOX ONE keeps turning on by itself...Help?

    I'm bumping this up because my Xbox One just started doing this yesterday. We turn it off, it turns itself back on within an hour. The screen is dimmed and won't light up even when we use a controller. Auto-sign-in is off as is the ability to turn on the
    Xbox using Kinect.

    Here is what you want to do:

    1) Clear the persistent storage. Go to Settings---->Disc and blue ray---->Persistent storage, and then clear the persistent storage 3 times

    2) Perform a hard reset: Turn off the console, unplug all the cords connected to the console, then hold down the power button on the console for 30 seconds, then plug everything back in.

    explain the reasoning of holding down the power button on the console for 30 seconds when theres no power even running through it since i unplugged everything

    Its like with any other device. No power, while holding down the power button will drain the power, then perform a reset on the console. Give it a shot.

    it worked i just dont see the point of holding down the power considering again its not being activated in any sort since it lost its power source already but thanks

    My Xbox One dimmed the screen last night, and then turned itself off after an hour of being dimmed. I had it sitting on the Ryse pause menu, and was out of the room. I don't think the screen dims while you're in sight of the Kinect, because I noticed if
    I left the room for 15-20 minutes and walked back in, the screen would brighten back up.
