    XBox One Turns on my sound bar but its muted


    I setup my Xbox One to automatically start my TV and sound bar. For some reason however, the sound bar is muted or set to have the TV to provide the sound. I have turned off my TV sound in the settings but still nothing from the sound bar. I have to manually
    change the preference to have the sound bar provide the sound, instead of the TV, each time I turn on my system.

    I was able to find my sound bar in the Xbox settings. It is a Sony HT-CT660 Sound Bar. A friend suggested that maybe the IR codes that Microsoft are using is incorrect. Please help.

    Xbox One X wont turn my soundbar on

    My Xbox one X will not turn my yas 207 soundbar on when it turns on but the xbox will turn the soundbar off when it turns off regardless of whether i have the soundbar set to toggle or not. It is set up with an hdmi connecting my xbox to the sound bar and
    an hdmi connecting my soundbar to my tv ARC slot. any idea on how i can get it so my xbox will turn my soundbar on when it turns on...or at the very least prevent my xbox from turning the sound bar off so it is just always on?

    Xbox One does not turn off tv

    My Xbox suddenly wont turn off my tv. It was working fine until I installed the recent update. It turns my sound bar/tv on and even turns the sound bar off, but does not turn the tv off. I have tried going through the settings and re-configuring the tv
    setup but nothing is working. Any thoughts on why it is doing this?

    Then just turn the sound down to its absolute minimum and you wont see mute and wont be able to hear it.

    In my experience the Xbox One Kinect is often not able to turn sound bars on and off.

    There is an issue with the remote codes for sounds bars on many universal remote controls not just the Xbox one. If you can locate a code online, you can try entering it but this may be limited to volume and not powering on/off

    Not getting a digital signal to my soundbar from XB1.

    I have the same sound bar. If you hook the sound bar up straight to the xbox one with a digital optical audio cable and not your tv the DTS on the sound bar will work. Works with games, blu-rays and my comcast cable hd channels that support 5.1. The DTS
    light on the vizio sound bar Wil light up when you turn on it on and when you change input on the sound bar and shortly turn off indicting it's working. These are my settings, HDMI audio off. Optical audio DTS Digital Surround. And under tv & one guide settings,
    click troublshooting, I have surround sound (beta) checked. Only thing I don't know if DTS or Dolby digital is better. With the march update I will have the option to choose DTS or Dolby digital that the vizio 5.1 sound bar does support.

    Question: Will any HDMI cable work for the Xbox One?

    I have a question on this one, I run everything (cable box and sound through the xbox one, I switched to a best buy (magnolia certified) HDMI cable as I now have my components and equipment in a cabinet to the side of the TV. I use the "Xbox on" and "Xbox
    turn off" features so when it turns on everything should turn on, my TV and sound bar should turn on, now that I have switched the setup the "xbox on/off" voice commands still work but turning the TV and sound bar on and off does not. I noticed the standard
    HDMI cable that direct tv supplies still powers on the set top box. Should I be having these issues?
