XBOX ONE turns on by itself

Every time I turn off my Xbox one( by control, or by pressing the button in the console), it turns off, then several seconds later turns back on. It is not on "instant on". I tried holding the Xbox button for several seconds and i'm still experiencing the
same issues. I tried using a different surge protector but it keeps turning back on. This happens about 75% of the time.

Xbox one turns on by itself

Mine was doing this as well, in the middle of the night. There is only 2 people in the house, and my girlfriend works midnights so when I was sleeping it would come on. Needless to say it was rather unsettling since it turns on the tv, my AV receiver, and
my Direct TV as well.

I just held the power button until it done a hard reset and turned it back on. Worked fine after that.

Xbox one turns on by itself

Had to reset it back to factory settings, So far it has stopped coming on by itself. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Unplug your Xbox One when you're not using it? If it still comes on it may be possessed.

I have to do that every night... I have to unplug it so it can stay off... I don't know if i still have a warranty, i think i just made a year with it....

try to clean the front panel - power and eject areas with damp soft tissue, also make sure it is not close to things that can cause interference, like if console is next cell phone , house phone, audio receiver, etc, make sure it has some distance between
console and other electronics. Also maybe move console and see if the same thing happens. ,

Hey ImWatchinYou69! Is the console plugged directly in to a wall outlet? Are you using Energy-Saver mode or Instant-On? When the console turns on, do you hear the chime from the console as well? Post back and let us know!

Hey there leogaboardi,

That's an interesting problem for sure. Is your console in Instant On mode or Energy Saving mode? It's possible the console is downloading updates so it appears to be on. Is this an Xbox One S console or an original Xbox One console?

My xbox one also turns on at seemingly random times. It did it this morning while I was still in bed and last night while I was on a different floor of the house. No schedule that I can tell. Two changes that happened recently the fall update and I changed
to energy saving setting.

Yep, definitely sounds like a stray signal from something else.

There are now that many devices that have remote control or use wireless signals that it`s entirely possible for one to cause interference with another.
