Xbox one, Turns on and act like its working fine but on the tv, its just a black screen

Ive tried that Diagnose tool, and recently tried the Factory setting download, after a couple of attempts it finally beeped twice and i was able to put the settings i wanted but at the end it tells you to press the home button, and at that point my xbox
tries to load it, then it goes into the black screen and like what it does every time..... Gives me an error code, saying "Home took too long to start." So at this point i turn it on and off, everytime im around it, and as soon as i turn it on it goes directly
to saying "Hello ___," but is still on the black screen the says "Home took too long," or when i press the start button, it goes the green screen then the black screen, without the error code, or sometimes it will just go the black screen automatically....
Please help.

Preview Dashboard Black screen

I have the new dashboard. It was working fine until i turn on my xbox one today. The green loading screen comes up but when it goes to the new dash board its just a black screen. Voice commands pop up and when you say xbox turn off that pops up but. Still
no new dashboard just a black screen. Can't even play games. Can some one help.

 

Connecting External Hard Drive Forces Xbox to Black Screen

I am having the same problem, haven't played my xbox in about a week and I turn it on last night and the screen on my TV is just black. It would flash every now and then like it was trying to pick up a signal but nothing. I eventually unplugged everything
one by one and after I had the external hdd disconnected it booted up fine. I don't remember what hdd I have off the top of my head, but I remember its a 5TB. It was working fine a week ago, not sure if there's been a recent update. I'm pretty positive its
the HDD though cause when I am at the dashboard and I plug the HDD in the screen turns black after about 15to seconds. Its like the xbox goes into standby? When I uplifting it the xbox goes to the green screen loads up and its fine. Please help Microsoft..
I've also tried all the different usb ports

 

just out of curiosity have you tried on another TV and with a different HDMI cable?

 

Have you tried doing a hard reset on the console?

Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test
for results.

i'm having this same issue in my xobx,

it takes to long time to turn on and once it is on it shows only a black screen, the only thing i can do is shut it down

 

Doesn't seem to be a display issue - as you said, the console was able to take you through the setup after the factory reset. Still, just in case, you can try to restore the display settings. For this, turn off the console, unplug it for a bit and plug it
back in, then hold down the disc eject button and the power button at the same time so the console will switch itself on.

 

I'm having the same issue. It shows the green startup screen for a long time and then a black screen with an error code and once I click continue it just goes back to the black screen. Apparently home took too long so start. I've tried a hard reset and nothing
seems to have changed. Has anybody with the same issue found a solution? Please update.
