Xbox one turns off unexpectedly

My console is turning off while i`m playing games.Can anyone tell me what`s going on?I`ve read it might be overheating,but the console is really hot when i touch it.Also,if overheating is the issue,how can i fix it?Will my console be affected in the long
run?

If this issue occurs only when you play games I suggest you to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One before taking other steps (beware this will wipe out everything saved in the hard disc). Check this support link for a step by step guide:

If the issue persist or is extended even in usage of app or other normal activities of the console you should send that console for repairs. To file a repair request check this support link:

Thanks for your answer,I`ll definetly reset the console.Still, I have one more thing.Some people told me that the xbox one should not overheat, and that if it overheats now, it means it will completely fail at some point.Is this true,should I be worried
about my console not working at all in a few months or years?

 

Indeed overheating is a sign of hardware failure and it can be caused by several factors poor ventilation, the presence of a heating source nearby the console, closed spaces etc. Try to eliminate some of this factors and your console will live longer.

In the other hand if the issue persists that is the case you should be worried and a console repair would be necessary asap.
