Xbox One Turns itself on and off repeatedly

    Hi,

So I have the day one edition and I've had this problem from day one and I keep hoping an update fixes it, but maybe MSFT doesn't know it even exists. Xbox One Turns itself on and off repeatedly :)

I have an xbox one connected to my receiver - Denon AVR 3311 CI and a Logitech Harmony remote that controls both. I can turn the xbox/receiver on and off with the remote but I discovered that if the receiver turns off before the xbox turns off, the xbox
goes into a loop where it turns on and off repeatedly (the kinect turns on and off.) This is the same behavior I think you get when you try to turn the xbox on when the HDMI is disconnected. It will loop in this state all night, I'll come out in the morning
and see it looping, on for say ~30 seconds, off for ~30 seconds. The only solution I have is to wait for the xbox to shut down and then turn off the receiver.

I think this requires a software fix..

    :)

Kinect turns itself on and off repeatedly

(I'm actually asking about this for a friend) My friend is having difficulty with her Kinect. The device seems to constantly turn itself on and off in a never-ending loop. Each time it powers back on, a message from the console appears saying that the Kinect
is ready to set up. When we go through the process, either

    • The device turns off before we can finish, or
    • We make it to the sound test. In this stage, the wavelike images are displayed on the screen, but there is no sound even with the TV volume up. On-screen there is an exclamation point and a message saying there was some kind of problem, and an option to try
      again.
These issues happened after unplugging everything, moving the console to a different location, and setting it all back up again (with no disc inside of course). We have tried the following to fix this:

    • Unplug the Kinect and plug it back in
    • Power cycle the console
    • Plug my Kinect in instead of hers (to see if it's a Kinect-related issue)
None of these have solved the issue thus far. Any recommendations?

Xbox One Turns itself on and off repeatedly

Program your harmony to send the off command to the xbox first, then to the tv and lastly the av recievr. you should be able to customize the order of operations on the my harmony website.

I haven't had that problem with my sony av receiver.

May want to check if there is a firmware update for the receiver as well. Denon Firmware/Changelog Download

    Hi,

This helped. After sitting down this weekend with the remote, I was able to add a delay after shutting down the XBone then turning off the receiver. So far so good, thanks Ghostly.

Kinect turns itself on and off repeatedly

I had a similar problem with my Xbox and the problem turned out to be my Skylanders portal plugged into the USB port. I'm guessing it was drawing too much power from the Xbox and shutting down the Kinect.

The solution was to just disconnect the portal. Hope this helps someone out there :)
