Xbox one turns itself off after 30 seconds

Can anybody help me please? Every time I turn on my xbox one S (all digital) the xbox turns itself off after 30-45 seconds. The tv screen remains blank also. After numerous attempts to turn it on it sometimes works and works perfectly. I’ve tried pretty much everything troubleshooting had to offer and even spoke with an agent but no luck there either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Shane.

    :)

Thanks so much for that information. I have tried the first solution you offered with regards to the hdmi so I don’t think that’s the issue. I will try everything else you have offered so thanks for that. Have a great weekend!!

Hey there @ShaneBennis, I hope that you are doing well!

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support!

There are a number of possible reasons why your screen may be blank after you turn on your console.

If your TV screen remains blank or black when you start your Xbox One console, first check your connection.

    • Confirm that both your TV and Xbox One console are turned on.
    • Check that your TV is set to the correct input signal (HDMI).
    • Check that the HDMI cable connections to your console and to your TV are secure.
    • Check that the HDMI cable is connected to the "out to TV" port on the console.
    • Try plugging the HDMI cable into a different HDMI port on your TV.
    • Try using a different HDMI cable to connect your console to your TV.
    • Try connecting your console to a different TV.
    • Power cycle your Xbox One: Press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to turn off the console, and then turn it on again.
If you have a secure connection, try resetting your display settings.

    1. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to turn off the console.
    2. Press and hold the Xbox button and the Pair button instead, as your console does not have an Eject button.
    3. This will boot your console in low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset this setting, press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select Profile & system, then Settings.
    4. Select Display & sound, then Video output and select the resolution you want from the Display dropdown.
    5. If you’re required to complete these steps on every boot-up, you’ll want to change your TV connection to HDMI. See How to change the display resolution for your TV on Xbox One | Xbox Support for more information.
I wish you a lovely day, and I hope this helps you out! All the best!

    Kind Regards

    Can't play Crimson Dragon.

Have you cleared the system cache? Hold down the power button for about 10 seconds or until the Xbox One turns off. After the console is off, unplug the power from the back of the console itself and let it sit for 30 seconds. Plug the console back in and
power it back up, it should take about 45 seconds to power on to the Home menu. Launch your game and see if it works.

Cant connect to xbox live wirelessly !!!

First off a simple reboot of your router may fix it. Most problems are fixed by a Simple Reboot.

    Turn off Xbox 360 Console

    Turn off Router

    Unplug for 30 seconds

After 30 Seconds Turn Router on.

    Try Reconnecting

XBox One Turning Itself Off After a Few Seconds

Hi! My name is Pam. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm afraid it's not really recommended to turn off the console if it's in the middle of update. If you already tried a different tv and hdmi cable and the issue still persist, I'm afraid the console needs a service. I suggest to keep trying this step as well.

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the SYNC button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console. Continue holding the SYNC and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the SYNC and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

When the console powers up, you should see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.
