  1. Xbox One Turning Zone 2 of Yamaha Receiver On & Off

I have my Xbox One set up to run through a Yamaha RX-V677 receiver. I had it going through a different receiver for years with no issues, but I just bought an Xbox One S for my theater room and moved my original Xbox One to my family room. The family room
receiver includes a Zone 2 that controls the speakers in my backyard. I have my Xbox set to turn the TV and receiver on and off for ease of access (and so my wife and kids can just use one remote button to turn everything on and off without having problems).
Now when I turn the xbox on, it turns everything on, but also turns on Zone 2, so music starts playing in my backyard. The Yamaha remote has a switch so you can control only Zone 1 or Zone 2. I'd like the Xbox to only turn on/off Zone 1. Is there a fix
for this? I'd imagine a lot of people have their Xbox running through a multiple zone receiver.

    :)

  3. Xbox one receiver issue

Before the June update my xbox one would turn my yamaha RX-V463 receiver on/off with the xbox on/off command. Now it doesn't work. Anybody have any thoughts before I call Microsoft support ?

    Hey there, Gifted!

I'm sorry to see this weird power up issue! You are honestly the first person I've seen running into this issue. The Xbox is designed to just send a signal to the receiver itself. If that signal is being sent to both Zones once the receiver gets it, then
it could be an issue with the receiver itself. I am thinking that it's just the signal that the Xbox One sends is a catch-all and the receiver is like, "Cool! To everyone you go!"

    Checking out our
    Feedback site
, it doesn't look like this suggestion has made it there yet. I think it would do great living on there since it is not a feature that the console has, but you feel should. This way you can get the right eyes on it to look into if that could
be implemented. You can also share the link across any social media to see if others want to vote for it, too! (Though, please do not post the link here, as self-promotion isn't allowed here.)

Generally, with these type of threads where we can't really support the issue, we lock the threads. However, there is a chance you might be able to test this on another receiver that also has Zones on it. I'd also test out the Xbox One S on that receiver
to see if it does the same thing.

Let me know how it goes! We'll stick to posting on Feedback if the other Xbox does the same thing, and focus on troubleshooting the original Xbox if it doesn't. Xbox One Turning Zone 2 of Yamaha Receiver On & Off :)

Xbox One turns on Zone 2 for Yamaha receiver

It is not possible to disable it since I need it. When manually turned on via the receiver remote or receiver power button only the main zone turns on.

Based on all the threads I've seen (here and reddit) this is an Xbox issue related to compatibility with Yamaha devices. Stop blaming the device, user, or making excuses.

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Darren, as was said earlier by the community colleague the ideal would be to disable zone 2 if it were possible.

If you're dealing with recivers and sound equipment, it's hard to imagine what settings it might or may not implement when it comes to compatibility of consoles like Xbox.

Hello again, in cases like this that may be an Xbox system mismatch, you can give your suggestion in the former Uservoice to Microsoft, which is now managed on Microsoft Insiders Reddit.

You need to report it to Yamaha, who can guide you through zoning changes, or submit the problem for a firmware update fix
