    Xbox One Turning TV On and Off?


    I own a Vizio HD tv that has/is been working fine for a year and a half. 2 months ago I got my Xbox One. I have it set up cable box to xbox to tv. I also use this tv as my main pc display : ). Occasionally now, after adding the xbox to tv, when I am on my
    pc input the tv powers down. I thought it was overheating or a driver issue on my pc's side. I finally decided to test if the xbox one was the issue by removing both HDMI cords from it. 2 days passed with no issues. Once reconnected though the issues came
    back. I then went into the xbox settings and made sure none of the toggles were on and that the tv was "NOT" being controlled by the xbox. Everything looked fine, yet the problem continues when I leave the HDMI cords connected.

    I do not know what is going on. Any and all help on this would be great. Thanks in advance.

    NOTE: I noticed even when the xbox one is not powered on I can still feel a bit of heat emanating from the top. Is this normal?

    Xbox One turning off/on Xbox 360 when not connected.

    Are you sure it's the 360 console turning on/off and not just the TV? If it's the TV, it's probable that the IR blasting that your Xbox One is doing to turn off its connected TV is also reaching the second TV and turning that one on and off.

    XBOX One and the Dish Hopper

    I have set up the xbox one and during the setup, the testing on "Turning On" & "Turning Off" the dish hopper works perfectly. I adjusted the settings so that when the XBOX One is turned on or off it will do the same for my TV and Dish Hopper.

    When everything is off, turning on the XBOX One turns everything on perfectly, HOWEVER; when turning off the XBOX One, only the XBOX One and the TV is shutting down. My Hopper stays on and I have to use my remote to turnoff.

    I notice that the order the 'Off" commands are Dish Hopper 1st, and then the TV.

    I see the Hopper blink off, and then a 1/2 second latter come back on & then the TV off.

    Does the hopper recognize a live feed and automaticly turn on, thus the quick off and then back on?

    Any Thoughts?

    Can I reorder the 'Off' commands so that it turns the TV off 1st and then the Dish Hopper?

    Silent so when you turn the tv off via the xbox the tv light goes off. the dvr light goes off and the ONE light goes off?

    And then simply saying XBOX ON it turns on then say tv on the tv and dvr turn on?

    i find with mine when i switch inputs i need to turn my tv off then on for it to pick it up.

    Have you set the Xbox One to control the power toggle of your TV? If so, it will send a signal to your TV to toggle the power state of the TV. Basically, if your TV is On before turning on your Xbox One then the signal sent to the TV will turn it off. If
    it is Off before turning on your Xbox One, then it will turn On the TV.

    Check the settings to see if this is the case. It should be under Settings -> Power & startup -> Power mode & startup -> TV & A/V power options

    Xbox On Command Doesn't Work

    I have noticed that if the console turns off and you say "Xbox On" right away it will not work. You have to give it a little bit for it to completely power off.

    As far as turning off the TV, Laurentus1. There is a setting under TV & One guide that enables it to turn on/off the tv.
