Xbox One turning off when switching between applications

Okay, so this is an odd one and due to not being around my Xbox often, I won't be able to troubleshoot immediately, but occasionally I am having an issue where I will be doing something on my system, game, Netflix, etc, and I will try to switch to something
else, and instead of loading the new application, the system simply shuts off. No error code, turns right back on like it never happened if I go up and press the power button, simply turns off. Worth noting that it does NOT send the signal to power off my
controller, which starts searching for signal the moment the system powers down. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would happen? It doesn't happen every time, but it's often enough to get on my nerves.

I have my xbox plugged into my computer using only a HDMI cable. Whenever I switch between using the computer and the Xbox the Xbox just completely resets. Any ideas how to stop this?

Don't switch inputs.

 

Hi, it is a known issue, and the Xbox team are working on it. For now it's best to quit the application or game before switching to another one. That will stop the console from shutting down.

So, it could be that your console is experiencing some sort of glitch and needs to be cleaned of excess data in persistent storage.

I would recommend following the steps in
