Xbox one turning itself on

This only started in the last month or so, and Ihhave checked the other threads. Everything on the other threads said was update or full 10 second power down. I've done both. It's not always at night either. My wife and i will be on the couch and it will
just turn on.

I run power saving mode, so I know the kinnect isn't hearing us say anything, and it on the same power strip that powers my modem, so I can't just power off the strip when not in use.

Help!

Xbox One Turning Itself On

Hello, I have seen this same issue in some other threads but I am now experiencing it myself. My Xbox One will not stop powering itself on after I have shut it off. It doesn't turn my tv on, and I do not have a Kinect set up. Ever since the new home update,
I have had nothing but issue after issue. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Xbox one, turning itself on....

For the last week or so my Xbox One is randomly turning itself on... Controllers aren't on, Kinect is disabled, energy saver is enabled, updates are disabled... No my pets aren't near it, no I don't have kids, yes I turned it OFF. This seems to be a rather
common complaint without an answer...

Oh, it's also not connected to any PC in the house through the app.... Nor is it even on the same network.

Nothing is passing through the HDMI, it's not setup to control power of anything else, nor is anything else configured to control it.

Ghosts? Lets be real... Last Xbox system? Possibly.

Hey there zane malindeal,

That's an interesting one, we've not seen many reports of that issue happening at all. Is this an original Xbox One model, or an Xbox One S model? If it's an original model, try unplugging the console from the power source and cleaning the power button with
a soft try cloth to remove any fingerprints or debris.

If that doesn't help, make sure your console is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector/power strip. The Xbox One console has a built in surge protector, so if it's connected to another one, it's very possible that there could be a
power issue going on.

try to clean the front panel - power and eject areas with damp soft tissue, also make sure it is not close to things that can cause interference, like if console is next cell phone , house phone, audio receiver, etc, make sure it has some distance between
console and other electronics. Also maybe move console and see if the same thing happens. ,

Hey ImWatchinYou69! Is the console plugged directly in to a wall outlet? Are you using Energy-Saver mode or Instant-On? When the console turns on, do you hear the chime from the console as well? Post back and let us know!

Hey there leogaboardi,

That's an interesting problem for sure. Is your console in Instant On mode or Energy Saving mode? It's possible the console is downloading updates so it appears to be on. Is this an Xbox One S console or an original Xbox One console?

My xbox one also turns on at seemingly random times. It did it this morning while I was still in bed and last night while I was on a different floor of the house. No schedule that I can tell. Two changes that happened recently the fall update and I changed
to energy saving setting.

Yep, definitely sounds like a stray signal from something else.

There are now that many devices that have remote control or use wireless signals that it`s entirely possible for one to cause interference with another.
