XBOX One Troubleshooting - Need to install update

My xbox was working fine but I wanted to do a factory reset, which required an update, so I ran the update but the console froze midway through. I did a hard shutdown and now when I boot it up I only get the black screen.

I found the directions for the thumb drive systemupdate thing so I can install the software and start over, but I cant get to my troubleshooting page. I'm supposed to hold down eject button + pairing button and then press power button which should lead to the right screen, but I don't get the boot-up sound that I'm supposed to. I do get a kind of error sound when I hit the eject button since there's no disc in there, but usually nothing else happens after power on.

There was one time I randomly saw the troubleshooting page after my finger slipped and I maybe did the buttons out of order or something but then the console shut itself off. Trying different combinations of button holding I haven't been able to recreate that accident again.

Try to Perform an offline system update | Xbox Support. If that doesn't work out, you will need to contact the online support to further assistance regarding this. Access Contact us | Xbox Support. Follow the instructions after clicking on the green button "Contact us" and choose to get help either from an online chat agent or request a callback. Make sure the region on the support website is set to your correct region in order not to find issues with the steps.

You may need to update your console. For example, if you see a “Download stopped” error, you may need to install an update before the download can complete. To see if there's an update available: Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
