Xbox One to TV with HDMI, no sound?

I just moved & don't want to dig out my receiver & speakers right now for Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. I just want to game! I placed my Samsung HDTV right next to my Xbox One on a desk & connected them with the HDMI cable. My problem is that I get video but
no audio. I even tried connecting my optical cable or toslink or whatever you wanna call it directly from my Xbox to my tv, still no sound. Help?

Unfortunately there is no way to connect the internal Receiver of the TV to the Xbox One for TV functions,

The HDMI IN on the Xbox One is designed to work with Satellite or Cable TV which involves having a separate box that normally connects to the TV with an HDMI cable.

HDMI Cable?

No, no Swap the HDMI cable (that was included with the Xbox One), from the Xbox One to the Motorola cable box. Then, take the HDMI cable that you were originally using from the Motorola to the TV, and plug it in to the Xbox One to the TV. Long story to

SOLVED! I just had to go to my Xbox One settimgs, Display & Sound, Audio Output and change Speaker audio to HDMI audio Stereo uncompressed. Maybe this post will help someone else someday. Buh bye

Audio over the HDMI or Optical from Xbox One to Sound System

With that and connection to IR ports with the Kinect you will be able to control games and TV.

Just had to say.... I've had to disconnect the hdmi from the xbox as the sound was just too much. Plug the sky box into the TV and problems sorted. My setup is sky hd box --- hdmi to xbox ----hdmi to tv. Sound is an lg sound bar on an optical cable direct
from the tv.

Definitely sounds like your HDMI port on the Xbox.

By chance, have you tried reversing the HDMI cables and plugging the opposite end into the TV and Xbox? I know it sounds strange, and it's not super likely, but there are one-way HDMI cables out there.
