    Xbox One to PC?

I know this may sound absurd, but is there a way to connect my XBox One to my PC for better performance? I play on my PC as well as on my XBox, but my PC isn't really meant for gaming, so I got this crazy thought that maybe if I hook up my XBox to my PC with
the HDMI cord and turn on the XBox, the XBox will do all the "heavy-lifting" for the PC. I know this sounds stupid, but I'll like to know if i could do it or not. Thx!

Sorry, but that information is incorrect. You would need to purchase the game for PC in order to play it on PC. Only games that are Play Anywhere can be purchased on one system and played on both for free. Xbox Play Anywhere | Xbox

Most monitors have HDMI inputs if you want to go that route.

  6. So you're telling me I can't hook up the HDMI to a plug in my computer, and then access that via some program, and therefore play on my monitor? That sucks.

If it's matter of you only having a computer monitor for both your PC and Xbox you can hook a Win 8.1 PC into the Xbox's HDMI and use the Xbox's HDMI pass-through. Both systems would have the computer monitor available to them.

Basically what you want to do but in reverse PC to Xbox to monitor.

HDMI to VGA or HDMI to DVI adapter you need.

No. I'm saying to buy yourself a HDMI to DVi adaptor.

I think the OP's intention was to hook a PC and One to a single monitor possibly using the PC's sound setup too. That is the only explanation I can see to wanting to plug the One into a PC.

Why you would do that is another question. I'm assuming its a cost saving issue because plugging a next gen console into a monitor that's so old it doesn't have HDMI support kind of defeats the purpose.

  11. I have an ant problem and the one area I generally use consoles is prone to having ants around it (generally when there any crumbs around that area) and so I wanted to do exactly what Randver here is saying. Don't want any ants crawling into a $400 dollar
    piece of tech.

  12. I recommend making sure there are no crumbs and dealing with the ant infestation.

Problem with that you want to do is that HDMI ports on PCs are generally HDMI-Out only, meaning they'll only send a signal and not accept one.

You'd be better off buying a new PC monitor and connecting your PC as it is now and using its HDMI port for the One.

I've tried hooking up my Xbox 360 Slim and my Xbox 1 console to my HP Pavilion dv6. It... hello... has an HDMI port, but the reason why my PC isn't picking it up is because others on here say something like it's the wrong kind of HDMI that are built on HP
Pavilion 15' PC's. I can play my Desktop and what I do on my PC on my HDTV, but can't use my PC as a monitor from my Xbox consoles.

Isn't the dv6 a laptop? Were you trying to use the laptop screen as a monitor for the Xbox? I could see there being issues with that, HDMI input on a laptop is rare ( Alieneware and maybe a few others have it ).

I am shocked that this is all due to an ant problem. Ever heard of surface spray or plugging the holes where the ants are coming in through. Who has crumbs around there Xbox one any way. Are you using it as a plate? I'm not being rude I'm just in awe that
you a going to all this trouble I've some ants!
