  1. Xbox One to PC w/ sound from external speakers

Hey all, so I'm trying to set up a connection between my XB1 and my PC, however I'm not getting any sound out of the external speakers. Now, I've seen a lot of posts and videos about this, but none of them pertain to my specific situation.

Here's what I've got to work with:

    monitor:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009291

    speakers:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121019
(not proud of those, last ones went out and I opted for the cheap stuff)

    optical cable: http://www.amazon.com/AUVIO®-3-Ft-Optical-Audio-ToslinkTM-Cable/dp/B0086YY7WE

    RCA cable:
    http://www.radioshack.com/3-ft-1-8-stereo-to-dual-phono-rca-plug-y-cable/4200494.html#.VLXcTHtmq7k

and finally, the audio adapter: http://www.radioshack.com/radioshack-digital-audio-to-analog-converter/1500093.html#.VLXdNntmq7k

So here's the deal, I've got the HDMI cable running from the XB to my monitor and the video comes through just fine. I've got the optical cable running from the XB to the adapter and the RCA cable running from the adapter to the headphone jack of my speakers.

Now, most videos I've found online always have instructions to plug the 3.5mm jack into the back of the monitor, however my monitor doesn't have a 3.5mm jack which is why I'm forced to plug into the headphone jack of my external speakers. Therein lies the
problem. When the RCA cable is fully plugged in to the headphone jack, there's no sound, but if I have it halfway plugged in, for whatever reason I can get sound out of one of my speakers.

Anyway, if there's any other info needed I'll be checking back fairly regularly because until I get this figured out my XB may as well be a paper weight.

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

Playing on PC monitor with external speakers

My TV is pretty small so I wanted to play on my PC monitor instead since it's much bigger and in HD. Problem is they don't have built-in speakers, so does anyone know what I'd need to be able to play Xbox One on my PC monitor and still get sound through
the external speakers? Is there anything I'd need to buy?

HELP NEEDED! XBOX ONE AUDIO PROBLEM WITH PC MONITOR

    Hi,

I recently bought a new PC monitor, which doesn't have built in speakers, or a 3.5mm jack port.

    I have a pair of external speakers which i use with my pc, but i cannot obviously use these with the xbox one, or so it would seem;

So really, I can't get any sound with the xbox one, and i was wondering what i could do to possibly connect these speakers to the xbox? (They simply use a 3.5mm jack)

    Thank you!

    Low audio from XBox one

This problem is with the sound from the X Box One to the monitor speakers (HDMI), replaced monitor and same problem.. Tried external speakers plugged into the monitor and no difference.

we like to connect an external speakers. Is it possible ? and How do we need to do it ?

There are a few ways you can go about this. The most typical is via an AVR (Audio Video Receiver).

    1. HDMI from Xbox to your TV. HDMI from TV to an AVR. Speakers connected to AVR.

    2. HDMI from Xbox directly to AVR. For this you'll also need to make sure you have HDMI going from AVR to TV so the video can pass through the AVR to TV.

    3. Optical out to AVR.

There is no way to connect external speakers directly to the Xbox. You would need an AVR connected to the speakers and then a connection from the Xbox to the AVR.

    If you don't want to go the AVR route;

You can buy an external sound card and connect your speakers that way.

You can use an optical to RCA adapter and plug the RCA adapter into the PC speakers.

You can buy wireless bluetooth speakers if your TV has bluetooth and your TV should output the sound from the Xbox to the speakers.

    Sound Issues

This sounds incredibly odd. Are you using any kind of external speakers, or your TV's speakers? If external, how do you have the speakers connected to the receiver or TV?

    Speakers and/or adapters?

For sound, the VGA cable has R/W Audio cables attached - You can pick anything that has that type of input for sound. - You can also get a convert at radio shack to change the R/W into a 1/8 female headphone jack if you want to use PC speakers or a set of
    headphones.

Friend can hear me but I can't hear them (them Xbox me PC)

Do you have other sound devices (like the internal speaker of your laptop, or external speakers on your PC)?

Windows can differentiate between sound from communications and sound from apps and games. So you can have apps and games output sound on one device (usually speakers), while speech from communications apps (like Skype or Xbox chat or other "phone-like"
voice communication apps) go to a special voice communications device.

You can set that up by right clicking on the Speaker icon in the lower right in the Information area of the taskbar.

In the context menu, choose "Sound".

You should get a window with several tabs like Playback, Record, Sounds and Communication (I'm using a German Windows, so my translation of the tabs might be a bit off).

But when you go to the first tab, the Playback tab, you should see all the sound playback devices you have on your PC.

Find the headset you have, and choose that as the standard communications device.

Check if that resolves the issue of you not hearing your friend.
