Xbox One to help with my head injury boredom

Hello Xbox community,

I am an excited soon to be new user. I have a head injury that makes me severely fatigued, this means I get really really bored as I cannot apply myself with something for hours, maximum is 2 productive hours a day between day time sleeping.

I have been watching fantasy and sci-fi films that I have already seen before, so I don't have to try to work out what's going on too much, to help with my boredom and to rest my brain.

I thought the Xbox One console was a good idea regarding the TV, Video and games.

I wanted to ask your advice and experience about possible games that are exciting but not too complicated to follow / workout, but also a little challenging. It's a fine balancing trick I am trying to achieve. I would like to lean towards sci-fi / fantasy
games as I like these films.

Uh Oh... "Diablo III: Ultimate Evil" can't run at 900p for MS anymore!

I ruined Diablo for myself with the original. I played it so much that I can't even stand to play the genre of over-head hack-&-slash games anymore due to boredom setting in quickly...

With the amount of headshots that thing could pull off I wouldn't be half surprised if you accidently shot yourself in the head at some point.

 

Well if I had to "rest my brain", nothing would make my life easier than an Xbox One with a Kinect.

Games aside, the media aspect of the Xbox One is second to none.

Set up all your favorite channels and navigate to them with your voice.

Feel better.

 

Call of duty seems to be up your street. The levels wont be to long and its a simple shooter.

I dont know if you get physically fatigued but maybe try a kinect game? Theres the sports games which can be played for around half an hour at a time.

UFC or KI can be played in short bursts

Unfortunately something i was discussing the other day its that alot of games these days (especially story driven games) seem to require hours long play sessions to feel like you have achieved anything.

I no longer feel like there is a game i can flick on for an hour and feel satisfied when i have to get off.

 

Halo MCC collection =. 4 full. Sci fi campaigns for the price of one. Good shooter that won't tax your noggin at all.

 

i'd go with Child of Light, Alien:Isolation and/or Sunset Overdrive.

Child of Light is a excellent turn based RPG that i enjoyed on the X1 so much, that i've bought it again on the PS Vita and playing through it again now.

Alien:Isolation is excellent if you enjoy suspense, atmosphere and a slower paced game.

Sunset Overdrive is a little more challenging because you really need to keep moving to effectively play the game, so it is grinding/bouncing/jumping/wall running, while shooting, so it is a lot to take in at first, but after a few hours i was completely
hooked and love traversing through the city. story has lots of humor, little "try hard" at times, but still one my favorite games of 2014.

 

Destiny! Sci-fi that you can do the same thing over and over and over. Requires no attention at all really.

 

oh wow, you have all got me more excited now, thanks for the mega ideas. I will do some research from your replies and get a console in the January sales. Kinect, One Guide and Games, here I come!

Have to agree with Goth lol, destiny is a good option, Trial Fusion, Pure Pool, Max Curse of the brother hood might also be worth a look.

I would pick up an Xbox One soon because I remember they said after January 2nd they will go back to their regular price. Kinectless would be 400 and with Kinect it's 500 and while Kinect is super duper awesome and I love it and can't live without it, it's
not really a vital piece so you can get the 350 bundle with both Assassin's Creed games still. I saw on Amazon they're giving $50 credit too so that's really awesome. It depends where you wanna buy it though. Most places should have the AC bundle for 350 until
the 2nd.. pretty sure. For games, I recommend Halo: MCC, Destiny, Alien(all Sci fi) and as for non sci fi but still decent Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare, Far Cry 4 and wait for it.. Tomb Raider! My favorite out of the bunch. Good luck Lee and hope you get

hmm, I wonder if that deadline will be similar for the UK? We have here on UK Amazon an Xbox One with Kinect for £364.00 (if purchased by the 27th Dec).

On the Microsoft UK Store it's £399.99.

In the UK will have January sales and I was assuming the price might go down. But Amazon seems to have a good price already.
