    Xbox One to DVI - No Audio, Please Help!!


    Hi all, I need some sound advice please. My xbox one is connected to my TV by HDMi to DVI. That only carries video. I have been trying to figure out a way to get audio. Ib decided to buy a ToSlink converter to R L Stereo and plug the R L stereo plugs into
    the TV to get sound. That didn't work and I made sure that the optical audio out setting was on Stereo. After wasting my money on that I want to try this: will a 3.5mm jack in the IR OUT socket on the xbox one connect to my tv audio 3.5mm socket and give me
    sound?

    What? I'm literally getting audio through my DVI port on my pc now.

    I want to buy an xbox one but I have an older HD tv with no HDMI input. Is there any way to hook up an Xbox one. My tv has component and DVI inputs for HD.

    I can get a HDMI to DVI cable but I will have no audio. what can I do?

    Xbox One to DVI - No Audio, Please Help!!

    The IR Out port is meant to connect a IR Blaster, that's it. Digital to Analog converters work spotty at best and honestly your best bet is to pick up a cheap sound bar that supports an optical toslink input or buy a new TV that has HDMI.

    You could try and look on Amazon or some other online retailer at more converters and check the reviews/comments to see if anyone has gotten it to work with the Xbox one. Heres a couple I quickly found on amazon that poeple say work with the Xbox One.

    Thanks for the reply. I think my converter should work without plugging into an amplifier but it won't. The TOslink socket on my xbox seems very flimsy! My TV has so many L R stereo inputs to it is a minefield.

    Also make sure you are plugging the audio into the the input that is associated with the DVI input.

    DVI has no audio channel. You would need to buy a specialty cable with HDMI to DVI and RCA.
