Xbox one - Third Party Headset on the new Xbox one Controller with 3,5mm Audiojack

    Hello,

so i recently got my new Xbox One and since my controller offers an audiojack i bought an adapter to connect my PC Headset which has 2 3,5mm jacks to the Xbox One Controller Audiojack. And here started the problems. After i got through the networking errors
that popped up one after another i finally succeeded in joining a Xbox live party with my headset plugged in without getting an error code. But the trouble wasn't over. Turns out i can hear ingame and Xbox sounds on my Headset just fine, but others can't hear
me. So i thought let's test skype maybe that works.

You guessed it, it doesn't. In Skype i can't even hear my buddy talking to me at all. I can hear the skype test service just fine, but my microphone doesn't seem to work with skype either. So i tested the microphone on my PC and it worked like a charm. After
spending the last few hours googling my way through the internet i can't come up with a solution. So where im standing right now is : i can hear game and system sounds on my headset and ingame voice chat but i can't speak. I tried changing the way i plugged
my headset into the adapter hoping it was just an issue of plugging it in the other way round, but that didn't help. And now we are at the point where i am right now.

So i would be really glad if you could help me resolve my problem.

    :)

  3. Enabling sound from a connected monitor with a headset

Hello, you would need to purchase a stereo headset designed designed for the Xbox One in order to get your game sound through your headset. Microsoft has their own variant

    www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset
but there are third party companies which sell certified for Xbox One (Just make sure it says it's available for use with Xbox One).

    Third party XBox One headsets
    www.xbox.com/.../third-party

If you buy a third party headset you may also need to purchase the Xbox One chat adapter so you can connect your headset to your controller

    www.xbox.com/xbox-one/accessories/headsets/stereo-headset-adapter

Some companies include them in the box, some don't.

Either way if it comes in the box or not you need to wire your controller up to your Xbox One in order to download the firmware for the chat adapter to it

Sounds like your adapter might be using the other plug standard (OMTP) than the one the Xbox is expecting (CTIA). That's the case with other headsets like Beats or Apple Earpods that have trouble with the microphone not working. If that's the case, you'll
need an adapter to convert your adapter to the correct standard.

How come once I connect a headset to one of my controllers, I can't use the headset for other controllers?

I've been having trouble with my mic not working properly on one of my controllers. I figured out that my controller was the reason why my mic sounded bad. I tried to connect my mic with a better working controller and I couldn't talk. I looked at all the
settings and couldn't find an solution. I think the mic is linked to the other bad controller in some way.
    Hi,

is it an Xbox Official Headset (or Stereo Headset) or a third-party one? Do you use an adaptor or do use the 3,5mm jack on the controller?

head set not being XBOX are no longer working

Third party headsets are not banned, xbox is ok with whathever headphones or headsets you use in your controller, but is only for new xbox one controller like the xbox one s controller, for the older controller you need an adaptor, the keyboard expantion
works with the 3.5 mm jack

    Xbox one stuck on mute!!

    Hello Musty,

As turtle beach is a third party headset as well s others. That is why the agent was having you try an Xbox one chat headset or stereo headset. These are made by Microsoft so first party headsets. With third party there is only so much troubleshooting we
can do. Updates that come out I have noticed affect a lot of third party headsets.

    https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/accessories/wired-headset-help

Also if the headset plugs directly into the controller via 3.5mm jack you can purchase an adapter. This way help with the issue.

    Thanks,

    Brad
