Xbox one "there was a problem with the update" message

I just bought an Xbox one, I have good wifi that im connected to. When i try to update the xbox i get the message "there was a problem with the update". I tried all the troubleshooting and says i should send my xbox in for repair. I just bought it so obviously
it doesnt need to be repaired. I tried contacting support but you cant talk on the phone anymore, chat doesnt work cause im not able to type in my name the boxes are locked and i dont have a twitter. so after hours of trying different things, this is my last
option before I just return this and buy myself a PS4

A surge protector can be bought in any electrical store and even many supermarkets such as Asda, Walmart etc. See the link for an example:

Also the problem will not be related to 'purchase and content usage'. If you lose power to your xbox whilst doing the update this could corrupt the update firmware and in some cases possibly even damage the hard drive. The diagnostic should help you find
the root of the problem.

Also, make sure your Xbox is plugged into a surge protector, that will help if you have another power outage.
