    At least 50 percent of the time, the xbox network is down. It is terribly frustrating. It is obvious the problem is in the coding, not the connection or hardware. Microsoft has by far the worst programmers in the market space. They also give you no line
    of communication to them through the xbox dashboard, obviously they don't want to hear about all their mistakes. Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves and I recommend switching over to the Playstation.

    Connectivity is totally unreliable. Also wins are not always posted.

    Bandwidth Usage Low Download Speed

    If you are not wired direct to the router then there could be interference on the wifi. Could be network congestion or the router itself. Try a different router or take the Xbox to a friend's and wire it to their router and test the connection. If it fine
    then you know it's a problem at home, swap out the router and make sure you are wired.. wireless does tend to be unreliable.

    You need to call your Internet provider about throughput and connection issues. They are the ones with the ability to examine your devices and your connection. Mobile Internet is notorious for unreliability and being prone to interference

    Hi, I have tried all of the troubleshooting points I am pretty sure, when I get a chance to test I will connect my laptop via the ethernet cable.

    I can connect wirelessly to the router but this is the other side of the house so provides a poor connection hence the extender however I cannot connect to the extender wireslessly or via cable.

    Many thanks for a quick response and ill let you know if it works when I get the chance to test :)

    How old is your gateway/router/modem (network hardware)?

    Replacing old gateway, (4yr old), solved many issues I was having with connection, updates, chats, MP games etc.

    I was able to connect OK, but every now and then I would have issues, and as it turned out it was my gateway, not my XB1X.

    I've had issues like that before with my previous ISP due to router updates closing ports during an update and stuff like that during 360 days it sometimes stopped or slowed down my connection so had to switch to a different provider which helped alot for
    me. I would have to ask you to of course double check all connections including replacing some of the Ethernet cables as well to make sure there isn't a problem with wiring before switching ISP though as well as checking port forwarding priority.
