    XBOX ONE TENURES NOT CORRECT!

Hi, I have noticed an issue with Tenures on the XBOX ONE Dashboard. Mine should be 11 and is shown correctly on the XBOX 360 but on the XBOX ONE it shows as 3. I have reset the console etc so all normal troubleshooting steps have been completed.

There are a few people on my Friends list also having the same issue.

    Some Images provided below.

This issue is still happening, I was told the issue would be fixed by support but so far nothing?

  5. Hi,

I'm having that same issue. On my Xbox 360 profile it shows the right tenure (8 years) but on my Xbox One profile it shows 5 years. I've tried contacting the support team twice so far but they weren't able to help me fixing it... Hopefully someone from the
engineering team will see this and come up with a fix soon...

If I were to guess what the problem is, I'd say that Microsoft is now using you Microsoft account creation date to calculate your tenure instead of using your gamertag creation date (because I remember changing my Microsoft account email 5 years ago to a
brand new Microsoft account so that's why I think it's showing 5 years instead of 8 on my Xbox One profile).

I made a post similar to yours even with pictures to prove that the tenure is working fine on my Xbox 360 but not on my Xbox One: Post - My Xbox One profile
    tenure is wrong

Still not fixed after being told by live support it was being looked into and would be fixed in around a month.

Is this even being looked into?

Hey, mission (and Luca5, if you're still following this thread)!

I'm incredibly sorry to see any frustrations! I can confirm that you guys are showing your accurate Tenures on both platforms. There's a weird situation that comes into this.

Xbox 360 tenure was originally based on how long ago you created your account.
mission - Based on your 360 tenure, your account was created anywhere from 2004 to 2005. It rolls over on your anniversary, so it could be those dates. If your account was created in 2004, there might be a year where you didn't have Gold after
we made the switch, and that's why it's not totaling 12 years right now. Several years ago, we made the switch that tenure was based on how long you had Gold on your account. This is cumulative, meaning it has the TOTAL amount of Gold you've ever had on your
account. Both of these factor in to your Xbox 360 tenure. Yours should switch to 12 on the 360 whenever the system recognizes the total Gold pushes over your 360 tenure to that 144 months of "Gold" mark.

Your Xbox One tenure shows solely the Gold tenure version. We have a tool here that does the math for us on Gold tenure using Gamertags; yours should flip over to
4 years in three or four months, as long as you continue to have Gold on your account.

Then comes into play when you accidentally, or purposefully, have Gold lapse on your account. Once you go to a free account, tenure on Xbox One stops accumulating and will switch to 0 years. However, once Gold is added back onto the account, it picks back
up to that number it was before and continues its count. For example, say you get rid of your Gold today. It may take a few days, it may be immediately, but your Xbox One tenure will go to 0. Once you add Gold back on, it should switch to 3 again (though that
could take up to a full billing cycle before that happens).

Luca5 - You have a similar situation with your tenure. It looks like you have ticked over to 6 on Xbox One, because our tool is showing yours as 72 months. Since your tenure is 8 years, it sounds like you've had Gold since before our switch
    over, and that's why there's a 2 year difference.

This is incredibly confusing and frustrating for those with differences like you guys have. Hopefully I've helped explain the situation well enough to help the confusion around it. I've been doing support for Xbox for 5 years, and this never gets easier
to explain. Please do let me know if you guys have any other concerns. XBOX ONE TENURES NOT CORRECT! :)

Thanks for they reply Misses Quinzel, The only thing is mine used to show the same number on the Xbox one? it was only since around July last year did it go like that & I have always had gold membership & have certianly had it longer than 3 Years as I have
had it on there since the Xbox 360 launch.

I have been messaging some of my friends and it seems all of them that this has happened too have switched Microsoft accounts at some point & maybe that is why the Xbox one isn't seeing the full gold time i have had? since some of the billing info from years
ago is missing as it was on a previous Microsoft account ( Live ID back then ) But I have always had a gold membership as it just used to be on auto renew anyway.

I have actually found a way to prove how long i have had gold for see below.

    Link:
    https://halo.bungie.net/stats/playerstatshalo2.aspx?player=

    Link:
    https://halo.bungie.net/stats/playercampaignstatshalo3.aspx?player=&ctl00_mainContent_bnet...

Using the links above flick through the dates the games were and between Halo 2 and Halo 3 you will see games every year pretty much every day.

Now my account was created on Halo 2's Release date & I know this as I purchased the Xbox starter kit with it when I got it that came with 12 Months gold inside. ( 11/9/2004 US date format) (09/11/2004 UK date format) You put your dates the wrong way. XBOX ONE TENURES NOT CORRECT! :p

Now when I created the account it made it into a US account for some reason so I had it like that for many years until the option was brought in to change the region so I did that in 2013 when it was added & changed it over to the UK.

The only time I didn't have gold was for a few months as you say that is why its not showing 12 on the Xbox 360 yet & I believe this was just before the Xbox 360's launch, however it was about 7 Months MAX as my Tenure changes in June but my account was
created in November so around 7 Months gap however after that it has been gold 100% of the time on both consoles & never allowed to expire.

I have the day one achivement on my profile showing I have had the Xbox one since launch & it has always been gold since then also.

I also have the 10 Year helmet which was sent to me in 2012 when there were given out & I believe these were only given to members that had gold for 10 Years & not by the age of the account as my 2nd account didn't get one and that account is as old as this
one but just don't have the gold time this one does.

One thing i will add is when I spoke with support they couldn't find billinng history going back any further than 2013 which is when i changed region and moved Microsoft accounts so I am guessing now the Xbox one is looking for the billing history when trying
to find the Gold time to calculate and can only see 3 Years as this issue happened in 2016 so 2013 - 2016 would be 3 Years of billing it is seeing & not all of it thus not able to calculate the correct Tenure number.

This is is a recent issue however so something has changed recently on the Xbox one end as since I have had it ( From Launch ) it has always shown the correct Tenure & was in line with the Xbox 360 & it was only towards the end of last year did it just drop
to 3 one day when I logged in.

As i posted before I have had a few friends of mine who have been with me since the original Xbox days & also moved Microsoft accounts & lost their billing history so some of them have lost 3 years depending on when they did it etc for example one of my
friends shows 8 on the Xbox one but 11 on the Xbox 360 & he never had any loss of gold because since the Xbox 360 days me and him play pretty much everyday on Halo.

I 100% believe this to be caused by loss of billing history in the Microsoft account & the only way to fix it is either to attempt to recover the lost billing info ( Less likley ) or change the Xbox one's settings back to read the Tenure like the Xbox 360
    does.

I Know some may see it as just a number on a profile but I have been with you since the start & have put much time & effort into the Xbox along with a lot of money.

Hope this helps in identifying the issue.

    Ty.

  13. XBOX ONE TENURES NOT CORRECT!

Thanks for all the details, Ty!

The unfortunate side is that the tenure that used to be shown on the website was the incorrect one. What is now reflected is the correct information for Xbox One tenure. One thing to note is that Family Gold, if you ever had it set up, does not count towards
    the Xbox One tenure.

The 10 year helmet was not given out based on anything that was announced. There were some people that only had 5 year accounts that got them. This was a very frequent question on the forums several years ago, and we couldn't (and still can't) give anyone
a definitive reason for why select users were sent it but others weren't. It was not directly tied to older accounts, but a gift given to users for being on Xbox Live (not even having Gold) during the Anniversary.

I get what you're saying. However, at this time, there are no plans to change the function of tenure on the Xbox One. Your best course of action to post on the
Feedback site. Since this isn't considered a broken feature, and there are no plans to change tenure at this time, you will want to submit the feedback to have it considered. You can provide everything
that you've given me here in your post minus the images (since that was an issue with the site that has been resolved to show the proper Xbox One tenure).

I 100% understand how what I am saying could be frustrating. I do not like explaining tenure to users; mostly because I agree that it shouldn't be different. However, what I believe should be and what is the fact of the matter are ultimately different, and
the only way to change that is by having it posted on the Feedback site. Getting users to vote for it and provide their voice too will get you in the right direction for the suggestion to be considered.

Again, I really do appreciate the full details you've given, as it gives a full picture of what you've seen over the years. XBOX ONE TENURES NOT CORRECT! :) I am sorry I can't be of more assistance.

  15. I just checked my billing info on commerce.microsoft.com and realized that I lost all my purchase history prior to 2010. I once changed my gamertag's e-mail address (Microsoft Account) back in 2010 so you may be right about why we're both having problems
with the tenure number in our profile.

You will not lose your tenure if you go to Xbox One. The tenure is linked to your Xbox Live Gold Subscription, which can be used for both 360 and One. To check your tenure on Xbox One, just go to your profile (selecting it from the Home screen or selecting
your profile at the top) and when viewing your profile you will see your Tenure to the left.
