    Xbox One technical question

Just trying to find a few things out about Xbox One.

The last few days saw Xbox Live and PSN get compromised which affected people being able to play games.

People were saying they were unable to sign in.

I really dont care about multi player gaming and only play single player games.

On Xbox 360 you can still sign into your account and play single player games even without an internet connection.....you just wont obviously be able to access any online features.

If I, for example, had purchased an Xbox One a few weeks back (installed all the latest updates etc) and got GTA V.....would I have still been able to play GTA V single player over the last few days when Xbox Live was down? Or does signing into an Xbox account
require an internet connection on Xbox One unlike 360? Hope this makes sense.

    :)

    Technical question

Are there many consoles/computers using the internet frequently in your house? Especially when your are playing online?

If so then your internet connection can be reduced when they are all on at the same time.

Im not sure if this is what you are needing but i hope it helps.

    Technical question

    Hi all,

I'm having problems with laggy gameplay in Halo Reach.

I have followed all of the fixes listed on the Xbox Live site (opened NAT, Port Forwarding, etc).

    >

During gameplay other players SEEM to be able to move faster, be more accurate/need fewer shots for a kill (on me, even with full shields). It SEEMS that I need to shoot them 5-8 times to kill them when they have full shields.

I'm not a fantastic player, but I'm no slouch either. This happens in all game modes except Score Attack (where I am the only player).

    >

I have checked my modem, up/down speed, transfer rate etc...all ok.

There are no red rings on the console indicating any problem.

    >

    My questions are:

    1. Could there be any software problem in my console that could give these sorts of symptoms?

    2. Could there be any hardware problems in the console that would restrict the flow or processing of data that would not necessarily cause a red ring?

    >

Hopefuly there are some here who may be able to help and save me the cost (and withdrawals from having no console for a while. lol) of sending it to Micro$oft for a check-up.

    Thanks for advice.

    Xbox One technical question

I was able to play Halo which was already installed and updated etc until I was kicked out of my live profile then I was unable to log in so my progress and saves were inaccessible so couldn't play. Had a new copy of Far Cry that was simply unplayable.
So basically once I couldn't sign in I was toasted.

Play the game offline. You don't need to be signed in.

Pretty sure you need to be signed in if you want to be able to access your save files for a game don't you? At least thats how it works on 360.

I can still sign in to my 360 profile even if the internet cable is disconnected, I just cant use any online features......but I can still continue single player offline games from save files.

Yea once your signed in you can choose to go offline, but if you can't sign in you can't choose offline.

Choose to start up without it going online under settings.

So basically that amounts to DRM?

You have to actually connect to the internet in order to go offline! I thought Microsoft did away with all that and said when you buy an Xbox One.....you just need to install a one time update and then you can constantly play offline without ever having
    to go online ever.

This is even worse than the 24 hour check in thing they originally planned.

Ah ha brandiesel1.....it can be altered in the settings. Those that were having trouble over the last few days had not changed the settings.

    Xbox One technical question

I was aware of the Offline Feature before any of this happened but what I found was a bit annoying. There is a problem with the Offline/ Online Settings from the Xbox One that when you pick Offline and then Sign-in (on the same
Console you should have your most current Save File as well) it works fine.

But the problem becomes when it is intermittent failure of Xbox LIVE (like on Christmas Day) you will be Offline and playing along in a SP Game Mode but when Xbox LIVE Connects (without your knowledge) it reverts the Offline Settings back to Online. This would
be all fine and dandy if it stayed Online but when it fails again and disconnects, Xbox LIVE cannot verify your Profile and it Signs your Profile out while you were playing without warning!

The above was truly frustrating as in the Games I tried it would send me back to the Title Screen with only a last Auto-Save (depending on the Game). This made for a very annoying I Sign-in and Xbox LIVE Signs me out back and forth.

The above needs to be addressed by MS in a future Update.

Is it possible that when you are playing along in single player and the settings have been set to offline....could you just not pull the internet cable out the back of the Xbox One so it would be impossible for the console to connect to Xbox Live without
your knowledge? Surely this would work wouldn't it?

But also I think the past few days is a very clear example of how bad that original 24 hour check in plan really was. This went on for 2 days.

Would not have mattered how great internet connection you had......after those 24 hours your Xbox One would be useless.

Yes, I suppose I could have unplugged it from Network but the point being, why should I have to rearrange my house and my Network when a Setting is specified on the Console for Offline.

It should stay Offline until I decide to turn it back Online. Further, a Profile should never be Signed out automatically because I couldn't connect to Xbox LIVE. It should be default persist in the Offline version of that Profile until the User decides. I
was the one who put it that way (Offline), why does the Xbox One decide for me when it goes back Online. Straight up stupid trying to be simple but making things more complicated in the end.

As for the original 24 Hour plan, meh It was only intermittent of about 2 hours Online, 2 hours Offline for about 6 hours. It well met the minimum of within 24 hours.
