Xbox one talon media remote isn't controlling volume???

I have a view sonic monitor that i am attempting to use with this remote, I went into device control and synced my xbox one with my monitor and it gave me a remote code, but when i try to change volume with the remote nothing happens, I am wondering if
there's anything i can do to fix this?

There is nothing set for audio receiver, but my speakers are built in anyway

When you look under Device Control is any sound device identified, if not the volume buttons won't do anything.

Are you having issues with the remote while trying to lower the volume or with every action?
