  1. Xbox One Taking ages to Connect to my Wireless network

I got this issues which is more of a nuisance than a hinderance, in that my Xbox One takes some time to connect to my Wireless Router. It shows no signal or any info on IPv4/IPv6, even though when selecting "Set Up Wireless Network" it clearly shows the
network I am using has a signal, and a strong one at that. It seems to take some minutes to connect, rather than instantly when starting up the console. I find this a nuisance to do and wish to know how to improve the speed it finds the connection and connects
to it, as its annoying to wait a few minutes before I can sign on online.

    :)

Hey Drake thanks for taking the time to bring this issue to us!

We suggest clearing out the Network Card Cache since when it gets full it causes this type of errors bud, to clear the Alternate MAC Address on the Xbox One:

    Settings

    Network

    Network Settings

    Advanced Settings

    Alternate MAC Address

    Clear and restart

If these steps are performed but the issue persists we suggest a Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) Since the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a
    Soft Factory Reset
(while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

    • There is a stable network connection.
    • The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

  5. Thx for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it didn't solve the issue. Neither cleared up the issue - it still takes a bit to recognise the network is there and connect to it automactically.

    Hey FireDrake,

If neither clearing the MAC address or factory resetting the Xbox helped, then we may potentially be looking at hardware issues with the wireless network card. To test that out you can try a few things. First would be to try if possible to find an Ethernet
cable and hard wire your Xbox to your router. The Xbox has a different network card when connecting using an ethernet cable so if it connects faster during startup it'll point to the wireless network card. For testing purposes, I would suggest to see if you
can take the Xbox over to another house and test out a different internet connection, or have someone you know try to connect their Xbox to your network. This will help narrow the problem down.

Is your Xbox set to Instant-On mode and also is your Xbox plug directly into a wall socket or a form of surge protector?

  7. I will try with an Ethernet cable, but I'll have to look for one, if we have one in my house. I can't ask someone else to connect their Xbox to my network, as I don't have anyone who does.

As for the factors over power, I do have it set to Instant-On, and its connected to the wall socket via a multi-socket.

One question - If it is the Wireless Network card, how do I fix that?

    Hey there Fire!

If nothing is working to fix this issue that you have run into, I would advice setting up a repair on the console. We would not advise that you try and repair the device yourself. You can always go through

    www.devicesupport.microsoft.com
to view the repair options that you could take advantage of through Microsoft.

    I hope this helps!
