    Xbox One taking a while to turn off


    So I recently bought an Xbox One, and so all the features and functions of the system are entirely new to me, although i was an avid Xbox 360 user last gen. So my concern is this, when i go to turn off the console, the xbox takes up to 2 minutes to shut
    off completely. I found this odd because usually it takes up to 10 seconds to turn off completely but this wasnt the case. Is this a valid concern?

    That's not good! I recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting guide we have for when your

    Xbox One console turns off unexpectedly    . Be sure to try all the steps provided there.

    Xbox One taking a while to turn off

    Seems your console is set in xbox one energy saving or instant on (that's the default setting). In this setting is normal for the console to take time in turning off until the last of the surplus energy is drained out. For more info:

    support.xbox.com/.../learn-about-power-modes

    So nothing to worry about!

    Xbone won't do anything

    Have you tried power cycling the Xbox? To to this, hold the power button for 5 seconds or until it turns off. By default, the Xbox One is in standby mode while its 'off'.

    You can change this to always be all the way off but it will take a significant while more to boot each time.

    Background downloading on Xbox 360 no longer working.

    Xbox 369 cannot download anything while turned off nor will it wake up to do so

    That's an xbox one and ps4 feature only as they have a 2Nd CPU to take care of the downkosds

    Background downloading means you can browse and play off line games while downloading however it does slow your download speed

    It's not recommended that you play while you downlosd

    As it does take cycles off of the download

    Hence why they put a cpu just for that now
