Xbox One - Sync Issues - Controller Frequently Disconnecting

Hi all, this only started happening today and looking online seems to be of no help.

Using my console with the wireless controller as usual today when all of a sudden I notice the buttons stop working (power light still on). Thought “no big deal it must have glitched” so I go to resync controller and console only to find that the console
sync button doesn’t work. I press and hold the button but the console power light remains unchanged. The sync button on the controller is working fine (power light flashes) so now I think this is a console issue.

I reset the xbox (hold power button until it shuts down) wait a few seconds and turn it on again. Doesn’t resolve the issue.

I reset the xbox again (hold the power button until shutdown then unplug it) wait a few seconds then turn it on. This time it seems to work. Xbox and controller seem to sync and work. I even attempt to resync for the hell of it and now the console sync button
works. Going all out I even pair my second controller (never used) and it works too.

Within 30 mins the whole thing happens again. Console sync button doesn’t work. Frustrated I go online and try connecting the controller with USB cable. Doesn’t work. I change the controller batteries, doesn’t work and then try my second controller. Doesn’t
work.

So I reset the console again, which seems to rectify the problem. I check my console updates (most recent one installed successfully this morning) and my controller firmware is also up to date. Another 30mins and it happens AGAIN. Obviously, I’m super annoyed
as each time I reset I lose my progress in a game.

I’ve left the console alone by completing a full shut down. After becoming hella peeved.

Could it be the update? Is my console kaput? Is my controller a lil ****?
