XBOX one switches sound off after restart tv

Im using my Xbox to watch TV, because of this I leave my xbox switched-on almost the entire day and only switch off the tv when finished.

When I switch on the TV again, there is no sound at all (No xbox/game sound and also no tv sound). I need to restart the xbox to make it work again.

I checked the settings menu and found that in working condition the HDMI audio is set to: Stereo

After restart of TV the HDMI audio has changed to: Off

When trying to change it manually again the Setting screen hangs on the turning circle, and sound is still not working.

    After restart it works again.

Is there a way to solve this?

    Thanks!

    :)

XBox One shuts down when starting Live TV

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my Xbox One when starting Live TV. I have the following setup:

    - HTPC (Windows 8.1)

    - Cablecom TV-Box (Samsung)

Both devices connected through a high quality HDMI Switch to the Xbox ONE. When waking up the XONE with the "XBOX ON" command, then starting Live TV ("XBOX WATCH TV" command), the HDMI switch points to the HTPC which is already ON. During the Start of the
Live TV my TV screen went black, the XBOX makes a squeaking noise (the Xbox itself not though the speakers) and shuts down completely. If the HDMI switch points to the TV-Box the screen stuttering for about 1 minute and no sound is played.

I already replaced all the HDMI cables and the HDMI switch without success. I tested the HDMI switch with my TV and it works fine. If I restart the console after the crash, everything works fine and as expected, except from the sound issue. To solve the
sound problem I have to turn off the TV-Box and switch it on again. The sound issue happens with all devices it seems, that the problem occurs if the connected Device is ON before the XBox ONE is ready.

Is there any fix for this, or is any update (already have the Feb. 16 update) in queue?

Audio issue when switch from game (COD Ghost) back to TV.

When I switch back to TV after playing a game audio sounds like everyone is sucking on Helium. This doesn't happen all the time but enough that it is becoming annoying. My current fix is to restart the xbox one console. Again, doesn't happen every time.

Question: Will any HDMI cable work for the Xbox One?

I have a question on this one, I run everything (cable box and sound through the xbox one, I switched to a best buy (magnolia certified) HDMI cable as I now have my components and equipment in a cabinet to the side of the TV. I use the "Xbox on" and "Xbox
turn off" features so when it turns on everything should turn on, my TV and sound bar should turn on, now that I have switched the setup the "xbox on/off" voice commands still work but turning the TV and sound bar on and off does not. I noticed the standard
HDMI cable that direct tv supplies still powers on the set top box. Should I be having these issues?

Certain games on my Xbox series x launch with no sound

After this has continuously happening to me for about 3 months now, on my Samsung TV and Xbox one, I’ve figured out a temporary fix. This started around August or so.

I turn Xbox on, play the game or app I want (doesn’t matter which you originally start), then if I switch games/apps, then the sound will stop playing on my surround sound.

My Xbox is connected HDMI of course, but I use an optical cable from the Xbox to the surround receiver.

I figured out that if you just turn the TV off till I here the power supply on the TV click, my surround sound receiver recognizes there’s sound to be played, and will play the sound when I turn the tv back on and use the game/app I switched to.

//Turn off the tv, then wait for about 1 min or so, and the sound should return.

If I wear my turtle beach headset, this problem doesn’t occur at all.

I hope this can be fixed. I don’t believe this is an xbox issue, solely a Samsung issue.

    Frustrating none the less.

Downloaded the last update yesterday and Now the Xbox One doesnt respond.

Me too. The update seemed to take a long time, the xbox one turned off as it was preparing to restart, came up with the error message, I was given the option to restart so I did and that was the last time I could see anything from the xbox one on
the tv. Just the no signal screen on tv.

I wondered if anyone experiencing this has a Samsung tv as sky tv have been having serious issues with compatibility after background updates on samsung tvs. Could this be a compatibility issue with the tv software and the new xbox one updated software?

Have tried all of the recommended steps, even prepared to do an offline update but it is impossible without some co operation from the xbox one itself!

Interestingly, when I switch on the xbox and the light comes on there is very little start up noises, no loud hard drive initialising as usual, just a quiet high pitch humming. Also the xbox one will not turn off by pressing the xbox one switch once on
the front of the box, it will only turn off if you hold it down. Neither will it turn on by holding down the xbox button on a controller.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Can anybody help?

Static noise in Xbox dashboard when connected to Live

It could be the Ratings Collection sound setting.

Go into the dashboard sound settings

Settings -> System -> Console Settings -> Audio

Look for the 'Ratings Collection Sound' setting and make sure it is turned off.

This setting causes a pulsing static like sound on the dashboard if it is switched on.

I believe this setting has something to do with TV ratings so unless you are one of those few people who's tv habits are recorded for ratings purposes then you should have this option switched off.
