So this doesnt always happen but whenever i have a adapter plugged into the controller along with a headset my Xbox One just switches itself off.

No warning, no error, it just switches off, and acts like its a hard reset and instant on doesnt come into play.

    :)

Xbox One switches off when an adapter is plugged into the controller with a headset

    Hi Elemento,

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issues with console shutting off. We recommend make sure the controller is completely up to date. By chance is the console plugged into a surge protector or ext. cord? If so try plugging directly into
a wall outlet and see if it does the same.

    Thanks,

    Brad

    Mic settings(were did they go)

    1. I use an adapter with not headset attached.

    2. On the top right corner of my screen where the charge of your controller battery is shown it also shows if you have a headset or not and when I plug in my "Apple headphones" it shows they are a headset.
    GoluckyMonkey97,

    1) So, you are using a "Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter" with your controller, correct...?

    2) And, when you plug your Apple headphones into the adapter/controller, the
    not mic
indicator in the upper right hand corner on the main menu changes to a
headset icon, and you do not get the headset and mic controls in the Settings menu between All settings and Turn off console?

Yes.... That's the way it's suppose to work. I had assumed that you were not using the stereo headset adapter, and that you were plugging your headphones directly into the controller's 3.5-mm jack. But, when the adapter is attached to the controller and
a compatible headset is plugged into the adapter, the Xbox will make the hardware buttons on the adapter as the priority for controlling over all Volume, game/chat Balance and Mute. Therefore, the headset and mic controls will not show up in the Settings menu.

I regret if this is still not working for you and your Apple headphones. But, if you do need to get a new headset, from my personal experience I think the "Xbox
    One Stereo Headset
" are the best buy for the money.

Mic on my headphones is not working

    Hi Warlord,

Thanks for coming to the forums. This means that it is not being recognized being plugged into the controller. When you updated your controller, was the headset plugged in at the same time? If not update it again, with the headset plugged in. There is also
    a
    stereo headset adapter
that may help in this situation.

    Controller not working

    Hi,

If your Xbox One Stereo Headset isn’t functioning correctly, check the following:

    • Have you updated your controller’s software to support the Stereo Headset Adapter?
    • Make sure your controller has fresh batteries. When the batteries get weak, some controller functions, such as audio and rumble, are turned off to conserve the remaining power.
    • Make sure your Headset Adapter is firmly plugged into your controller and that your Stereo Headset’s 3.5-mm cable is securely plugged into the Headset Adapter. You will know it’s plugged in properly if you press the mute button and the LED lights up.
    • Try your Xbox One Stereo Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox
      Online Service Center
      .
    • Try your Stereo Headset and Stereo Headset Adapter on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try updating
      the first controller
again. If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox Online Service Center .

    Cheers
