    Xbox one surround sound issues.

Hello,I have a Phillips 5.1 home theater, connected to my Phillips hd TV,via a digital rca cable to its digital output port.

The Xbox 360 surround worked fine in this mode, however while using the 5.1uncompressed on the one, sounds like dialogue doesn't work properly, on some games, like forza, ryse, metal gear,I can't hear the dialogue, while games like assassin's creed unity have
distant dialogue and others sounds with very low volume.

I really would like some help here, using stereo, while it is playable, seems like a waste, since I have a 5.1 system and the Xbox sound processor can handle hundreds of different sound assets at the same time.

Sorry for any mistakes,English is not my 1st language and I am posting on a phone, don't worry,I can perfectly read English.

    :)

    Hooking up Xbox One

I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with hooking up Xbox One to Surround Sound and Cable box. I seem to be not able to have it all hooked up. Anyone with suggestions? I used to have xbox 360 and cable box plugged into surround sound receiver
then hdmi from surround sound to tv everything worked fine. Any help would be great.

    Surround Sound Complications

    Hello Community,

I would like to consider myself a Techie but when I setup my Xbox One I got for a present I only ran into frustration and issues.

    Equipment & Setup:

Xbox One plugged into a Sony Receiver via HDMI. Receiver plugged into TV via HDMI cable.

Xbox One set to 5.1 uncompressed (as suggested via researching this online). Receiver states 3/2.1 PCM - I set it to PLII Movie, thus 5.1 Surround Sound.

    Issue:

Hulu app will not play 5.1 surround sound, only FL & FR speakers.

Previews on a Blu-Ray wouldn't play 5.1 surround sound but the actual movie would.

Pandora will only play through FL & FR speakers, no sub.

Netflix will play 5.1 surround sound. Games will play 5.1 surround sound.

    Confusion:

Why are some items playing surround sound and others are not? My previous console had no issues playing Hulu at 5.1 surround sound with same HDMI setup. My other devices I'm using on the receiver are playing 5.1 surround sound just fine.

Seeking help with this. I would hate to return the Xbox One due to something as trivial as Audio. Especially since a device as simple as my Chromcast and PS3 had no issues whatsoever. But if I can't solve this within the week I will have to return for a
    PS4.

Thank you ahead of time for your help and support with this,

    Tom

    Xbox one surround sound issues.

Also I tried the hdmi bitstream mode with both Dolby options, however this doesn't seem to output any sound.

I can't connect my Xbox one directly to the spdif on the home theater, since I don't own a rca to optical toslink active adapter.

Does anyone else have this problem?

It's not an issue; the Xbox One simply doesn't support surround sound yet - they're fixing it with an update soon.

    surround sound issues

Well, after looking up the manuals for your TV and surround sound systems it looks like you have two options. The first and easier of the two is to get an analog RCA audio cable and hook it up to the audio out from you TV into the audio in on your Sony system.
That way you should only have to change the input on your surround system to TV/Video to get your Xbox going through surround sound.

The other option would be to buy a digital optical to analog RCA converter that would allow you to hook the Xbox up directly to the surround sound system instead of routing the sound through the television first. Here's an example of one,

I hope this helps you out. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.
