  1. Xbox One Summer Update - after updating the game streaming to PC keeps disconnecting

    Hey there,

Is this also happening with the controller connected to the console directly and not the Windows 10 PC? Was both your Console and PC connected wirelessly or through a wired connection? I know you said previously that the lag stopped when the controller was
connected to the console, I'm just checking to see if that part of the setup changed when you saw this.

Troubleshooting Xbox App game streaming on Windows 10

  3. The lag issue was happening while the controller was connected to the Windows 10 PC. My PC is wired, and my Xbox One console is wireless. I have never tried connecting my Xbox One with a wired connection. I haven't tried connecting my controller directly
to my Xbox One since updating the Xbox App Beta to version 22.23.4005.00000. I could try connecting my controller directly to the console, but I don't know if I should do it right from the start or not.

    Should I

    - connect the controller to the console directly right when I start streaming?

    OR

-connect the controller to the PC, and wait for the lag to show up. Then connect the controller to the console directly?

Also, do you think it matters if the controller is wired to the console, or if it is ok for it to be wirelessly connected to the console? Do you think that would make a difference?

Another thing I wanted to elaborate on in is the lag and the dashboard. When a game is lagging and you go to the dashboard, it sometimes seems like it "fixes" the lag. The lag will sometimes go away immediately; other times it won't. It seems like if a game
is lagging, and you keep the game full-screen, it will lag for a longer period of time. If the game is lagging and you go to the dashboard, it seems like the lag goes away quicker. I don't know if going to the dashboard absolutely "fixes" the lag or not because
it isn't consistent. Sometimes the lag goes away immediately when going to the dashboard, and sometimes it doesn't. It's just that when the lag issue occurs, my first instinct is to go to the dashboard because I feel like that "fixes" it quicker than if I
    just keep the game full-screen.

  4. Xbox One Summer Update - after updating the game streaming to PC keeps disconnecting

So, I tried a bunch of different things today. I will just list everything I did.

    Xbox App Beta version: 22.23.4005.0

Xbox One Console OS version: 10.0.14393.1065

    Windows 10 PC's version: 1607

    Windows 10 PC's OS Build: 14393.447

-I started streaming to my PC. The Xbox One console was wirelessly connected. The controller was connected with USB to the PC.

-There was no lag for about 2hrs.

-Once the lag started, I kept playing. The lag spikes were about 5min apart. At first going to the dashboard would fix the lag, but after a little while the lag seemed to get more severe. When the lag was more severe, going back to the dashboard didn't seem
like it had that much of an impact on the lag. I also tried to stop streaming, and then start streaming again; this sometimes would fix the lag temporarily. The lag would continue to come back every 5min.

-Once I noticed that the lag was happening consistently every 5min, I disconnected the controller from the PC. I then reconnected it to the console(with a wired USB). The lag was still occurring unfortunately.

-Then I quit out of the game I was playing and restarted it; doing that got rid of the lag. I let the game run for about 1hr 30min. The lag didn't return.

-I then disconnected the controller from the console and reconnected it to the PC with USB. I was able to play for about another hour or so until the lag started happening again. I kept playing for about another 30min.

-Once the lag was consistently happening every 5min, I again disconnected it from the PC and reconnected it to the console(with USB).

-Once again, the lag continued until I restarted the game. When I restarted the game the lag was still happening this time, but it wasn't as severe. Most of the time when I would go to the dashboard, it would fix the lag temporarily. Almost every time I
stopped streaming and restarted streaming, it would fix the lag temporarily. The lag would also happen about every 10min instead of 5min.

-Then I disconnected the controller from the USB(the controller was still connected to the console, but it was now wireless). When the lag was happening, I would try going to the dashboard, but it wasn't stopping the lag. I also tried to restart the streaming,
but that also didn't stop the lag.

-I then reconnected the controller to the console with USB. When I would go back to the dashboard it would sometimes fix the lag. When I would restart the stream it would typically fix the lag. The lag was still always coming back every 10min though.

-Then I restarted the game again. This caused the lag to go away completely. I let the game run for about an hour, and the lag did not return.

-Then I disconnected the controller from the console and reconnected it to the PC with USB again. I was able to play for about 1-2hrs before the lag returned.

So, it seems like having the controller connected to the console(wired with USB) works the best. If there ever is lag I could typically either go to the dashboard or restart streaming the temporarily fix the lag. I could also just restart the game, and fix
the lag completely. The lag was also less severe, and would happen less often(every 10min instead of 5min).

Having the controller wirelessly connected to the console seemed to basically be the same as having the controller connected to the PC. Having the controller connected to the PC had the worst results. The lag was more severe and would happen more often.

I know that there is a new update for the console that came out today, and I am downloading it right now. I don't know if there are any bug fixes or anything like that in the update, but I will play some more tonight. I will post again tonight or tomorrow
morning to say if anything having to do with the lag has improved. I also just noticed that the Xbox App has an update. I will probably download that and test out the normal Xbox App and see if there is any change.

I actually installed Comodo Firewall and everything cleared up.

I don't know what program changed firewall settings, but Windows Firewall wasn't letting me connect to the console through Beta app.

    None of the troubleshooting helped.

  6. I updated the Xbox App Beta to version 22.23.11006.00000, and it seemed to fix the problem with the lag. There is still stuttering problems though. Some games stutter every 5-10 minutes, and other games stutter every 30 seconds.

  7. Thanks for the heads up on that, when you tested this. What quality setting were you using to stream? Low, Medium, High, Very High? If you changed it to a lower setting did that help?

  8. Xbox One Summer Update - after updating the game streaming to PC keeps disconnecting

    Xbox App Version: 22.23.11005.00000

    Xbox App Beta Version: 22.23.11006.00000

    Xbox Console OS Version: 10.0.143932123

Windows 10 PC Version 1607, OS Build: 14393.447

I have tested a few games on both the normal Xbox App and the Beta App, and both apps have the stuttering problem; neither of them have the lag issue any more. Both apps perform about the same(neither performs better than the other). The stuttering only
seems to happen on the very high quality setting. When I use the high, medium, or low quality setting the stuttering problem goes away. I have played these games previously in the past couple months on the very high setting, and they didn't stutter like this.

  9. I have updated the Xbox App Beta to version: 22.23.18007.0, and it also has the same stuttering issue. Also, playing on the high quality setting actually does have some stuttering; it just doesn't happen as frequently as the very high quality setting.

i'm aware that this thread hasn't had any posts in about 4 months, but i'd just like to mention that this problem still hasn't been fixed, or has at least resurfaced. For a while I was streaming games to my laptop to record for Let's Plays, but had to stop
as my router wasn't cabable of keeping up with it to provide decent frame rate. (This has since been fixed and i'm experiencing zero delays across all machines on the network and everything is flawless for even my xboxone's downloads and online capability).
Today I decided to try a stream to see if recording again would be viable. After having to argue with the app to recognize my xbox one even exists (multiple instances of it pretending that the xbox wasn't on my network and that the ip i collected from the
xbox itself to manually find it led to nothing, yet it still appears on my network to my laptop, which I'm trying to stream to) i experienced a total stream drop after approximately 70 seconds every single time, and I have followed every last fix people have
attempted in this thread to fix the issue to absolutely no avail.

    xbox version # 10.0.15063.1005

xbox app # 27.27.28010.00000 (the page showing how to check that the app is up to date provides version 19.21.23005.00000, I'm not sure if this is a not up to date page, or if something very very wrong is going on with this, but it's what I've got.)

    xbox beta app # 27.27.24018.00000

windows 10 is fully up to date as well.

Hopefully someone still peeks at this thread as the issue seems to have resurfaced or is only just now hitting me!

I have had no issue streaming for the past few months. Today I try to stream and it keeps giving me the error "We lost connection to your console." This is just not true. I can HEAR the volume from the game I'm playing even after this message appears. If
I click ok then the sound goes away. The only thing that doesn't seem to stay connected is the video. I found one fix for it which was to turn off the xbox remotely (through the app). It'll reset instead of turning off. Then hit "turn on" on the app which
should instantly reconnect it since it's already on. Hit stream and you can stream again. Not sure why this works, but hopefully it helps someone with the current issue.

I also just updated my Xbox App Beta to version: 22.23.4005.00000; I have been getting "Lost Connection" error messages as well. I can start streaming and get to the dashboard and start a game. Then right when the game starts it says "Network Quality Problems"
then it says it lost the connection to the console. I just have to click "Stream" again to start playing, but sometimes when I am playing it will lose connection to the console as well.

By the way, when I first started streaming with my Xbox One, I would start a game and it would start normally. For a while now, every time I start a game the screen goes dim, and then it says "Network Quality Problems". That never used to happen, but for
the last couple months it happens every time I start a game. I don't remember when that started happening, but it started months ago.

Also, the stuttering problem from before seems to have gone away for me, but the really bad lag continues to happen. The lag seems to last longer than before; it used to only last 1-3 minutes, and now it lasts about 5 minutes or more. It still only happens
when the games are full screen, and not when you are on the dashboard. When you hit the Guide Button and it minimizes the game, the game doesn't have any lag. When you make the game full screen again the lag shows up again.

    Not wireless.

    All on the same network.

I've just updated the Xbox (Beta) app to version 22.23.4005.00000 and after rebooting some time after the installation, I'm no longer able to stream games on Windows 10 Pro x64 (v1607) (build 14393.351).

I've read through this thread and tried multiple solutions (clearing persistent cache, clearning alternate mac, etc).

The console has a static IP address and all ports have been forwarded through the modem/router (there's only one box since it's from Shaw).

When I turn the Xbox on and run the Xbox Beta app, clicking stream will show the big red screen pop up and tell me streaming is starting. But after the red screen goes down, it shows whatever menu in the xbox app was on before the red screen popped up. And
then it shows "network problems". And then says it lost connection with the console.

Nothing happened to the default Windows Firewall (not using a third-party firewall) rules.

The Xbox Beta app shows its NAT type is "moderate" (since the desktop is NOT static) but NAT type on the console is open (since the console is static).

Isn't there a tool to check certain things like services, dependancies, etc?

I've uninstalled the Xbox Beta app and then reinstalled and rebooted countless times.

I've even unplugged the console for some time and it still won't let me stream gaming.

Prior to the update, streaming games was easy.

Is there no way to rollback to previous version of the app?

I don't use the Windows System Recovery so that's not an option (wouldn't even know how far back to roll to which would have a fucntioning app the way WSR works).
Thanks for posting, this issue sounds different from the one that this thread is about (streaming lag). Please try this troubleshooting guide and see if it helps out.

Xbox One Summer Update - after updating the game streaming to PC keeps disconnecting

Hey all, the teams looking into this issue have asked for those seeing this issue to try some unique steps to see if the problem persists.

Please try to disconnect any and all game controllers from your PC and instead connect the Xbox One controller directly to the Xbox One console. Then try streaming while the controller is connected to the console and not the Windows 10 PC. We're curious
to know if A. The connection and stream is more reliable and prevents any random disconnections and B. if the issue with stuttering and lag issues persist.

Could you please try that using both the Xbox App as well as the Beta Xbox App and let us know the results?

    Thanks so much!
I tried this for about an hour tonight using the standard (non beta app) with pretty good results. No huge lag issues, it would "stutter" on an occasion (30-120 seconds) for just a very brief moment, maybe a few frames worth. Nothing like I was experiencing
    previously where is was unusable.

Did have an issues though were my controller stopped responding while playing Overwatch, requiring me to force close the game and re-open it. Not sure if it was related to streaming while using the controller locally, just wanted to note it.

Hello, I believe I am having the same problem as everyone else here. I can stream a game for about 1-2hrs, and then the game gets laggy. The lag will stop after about a minute, but then it will come back about every 5 minutes. The only way I can stop the
lag for a while is by stop playing for a couple hours; the issue always comes back though. Games get laggy, but the dashboard doesn't. It doesn't matter what the game is; the lag happens with every game I have played.

The lag started happening for me when I was playing Batman Arkham Knight. I had just bought the Season Pass and after playing for a little bit it got very laggy. At the time I almost thought that maybe one of the DLC's was causing the problem(I thought maybe
one of the files was corrupt or something), but then I started noticing lag in other games that I was playing also. So, I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I have tried holding the power button on the Xbox One, unplugging my Xbox One and plugging it back in, unplugging both my modem and router and plugging them back in, clearing the blu-ray persistent storage, and signing out and signing back in. Nothing seems
    to fix the issue.

    Xbox App: 19.22.6017.00000

    Xbox App Beta: 22.22.21005.00000

    Xbox One OS Version: 10.0.14393.1065

Windows 10 PC Version: 1607, OS Build: 14393.351

I am using a wireless connection.
