Xbox One Summer Update - after updating the game streaming to PC keeps disconnecting

    Mister Mascot,

Not easily, my laptop does not have a built in Ethernet jack. I can try a USB adapter at some point. I am not sure what this will prove though since my Xbox streaming works when the Xbox is on wireless. I get lag after a few minutes if the Xbox is wired.
Both scenarios the laptop is wireless so that should eliminate the laptops wireless connection as a possible issue.

  2. Thanks for the update,

Can you try again using the different stream settings in the Beta app? Low, Medium, High and Very High to see if it had any effect?

    Thanks!

    Hi

I am another 'victim' of xbox one streaming issue. I made a couple of tests and I am pretty sure that - at least in my case - it is NOT network issue. Again, it is NOT network issue! More like performance problem.

    1)

I was running the ping to my console from my computer. Every time i noticed any streaming issue I was looking the the ping results (running in the infinite loop) - and everything was correct, I got time <1ms. No change.

    2)

I made a crazy test. I am running DLNA server on my PC. So i was streaming a HD 1080p movie to xbox and than with xbox app I was watching it again on my PC. Everything runs smoothly, I was uploading data with transfer rate: 80 Mbps, downloading 15 Mbps.
I was able to watch full movie without a single issue, without any quality loss due to network, without any disconnections.

During the test I was multiple times pausing the movie and running a game. And ... after a few minutes of game play I got a network quality message, sometimes I got disconnected, sometimes i got one frame per second, After leaving the game the movie was
running smoothly with the transfers 80Mbps/15Mbps... I cannot believe that my network slows down just for a gaming session and as soon as I start movie the network is OK back...

    3)

I have noticed that if I see any network quality issues during game and if I go to the xbox dashboard immediately - then after a few seconds I can go back to the game and it runs smoothly, at least for a few minutes.

It doesnt work all the time, sometimes going back to dashboard doesnt help - but in majority of cases it does help..

    4)

The streaming quality has nothing to do here. I can play with very high quality for an hour or two and then even with lowest quality I got network quality message every few minutes. Changing the quality doesnt help, doesnt make the problem occuring more
    or less often

    5)

I was checking the network interface on my PC. As soon as I noticed in the streaming session a network quality message I checked the network interface data transfer: the download to my PC was zero. Null. Nothing. But again - the network is working correctly,
I could start movie as described in the point 2.

Any advice here? I dont know the streaming mechanism details but to me it looks like sometimes for unknown reason xbox stops sending data to my PC. Since it happens only during the game maybe it's just a performance issue - the game itself uses so much resources
that the streaming stops working? Or maybe its just memory handling - and the streaming stops working due to lack of memory...Or whatever, but it's not a network issue - at least in my case.

Any help/advice/update for this issue from microsoft?

  5. Hey all, the teams looking into this issue have asked for those seeing this issue to try some unique steps to see if the problem persists.

Please try to disconnect any and all game controllers from your PC and instead connect the Xbox One controller directly to the Xbox One console. Then try streaming while the controller is connected to the console and not the Windows 10 PC. We're curious
to know if A. The connection and stream is more reliable and prevents any random disconnections and B. if the issue with stuttering and lag issues persist.

Could you please try that using both the Xbox App as well as the Beta Xbox App and let us know the results?

    Thanks so much!

  6. Hello, I believe I am having the same problem as everyone else here. I can stream a game for about 1-2hrs, and then the game gets laggy. The lag will stop after about a minute, but then it will come back about every 5 minutes. The only way I can stop the
lag for a while is by stop playing for a couple hours; the issue always comes back though. Games get laggy, but the dashboard doesn't. It doesn't matter what the game is; the lag happens with every game I have played.

The lag started happening for me when I was playing Batman Arkham Knight. I had just bought the Season Pass and after playing for a little bit it got very laggy. At the time I almost thought that maybe one of the DLC's was causing the problem(I thought maybe
one of the files was corrupt or something), but then I started noticing lag in other games that I was playing also. So, I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I have tried holding the power button on the Xbox One, unplugging my Xbox One and plugging it back in, unplugging both my modem and router and plugging them back in, clearing the blu-ray persistent storage, and signing out and signing back in. Nothing seems
    to fix the issue.

    Xbox App: 19.22.6017.00000

    Xbox App Beta: 22.22.21005.00000

    Xbox One OS Version: 10.0.14393.1065

Windows 10 PC Version: 1607, OS Build: 14393.351

I am using a wireless connection.

Xbox One Summer Update - after updating the game streaming to PC keeps disconnecting

I tried this for about an hour tonight using the standard (non beta app) with pretty good results. No huge lag issues, it would "stutter" on an occasion (30-120 seconds) for just a very brief moment, maybe a few frames worth. Nothing like I was experiencing
    previously where is was unusable.

Did have an issues though were my controller stopped responding while playing Overwatch, requiring me to force close the game and re-open it. Not sure if it was related to streaming while using the controller locally, just wanted to note it.

I played split screen for a good amount of time with my brother, he was using a 360 controller through the xbox app and i was using a normal xbox one controller through the console itself.

The results i got were mixed, between playing by myself and with him using a controller through the xbox app.

The normal Xbox App didn't seem to have any difference though. We were lagging when playing together quite frequent, and I was lagging at the same rate when playing alone.

However, and because it became so inconvenient playing with so much stutter, we switched to the beta version (22.22.28020.00000) and while the lag persisted using the setup that we always used, it looked to be a little more stable for myself alone.

It may be just random, or maybe it's performance issues that causes the lag. Perhaps playing co-op on the same console uses more resources than singleplayer and thus it limits the functionality of the streaming factor to keep the game at as much higher of
a framerate as possible. Maybe not, as there are alot of people that still get stuttering playing by themselves for sure.

Or maybe it's actually something as simple as having a controller connected to your computer.

  10. Last night I tried connecting my controller directly to the console(with USB). Then I started streaming to my PC using the Xbox App Beta(Version 22.22.28020.00000). I played for about 2hrs, and I didn't see any major lag. There was a little stuttering every
once in a while, but not as bad as before. I then disconnected the controller from the USB(it was still connected to the console wirelessly), and I played for another 2hrs. I still didn't see any major lag; just the occasional stuttering every so often. Then
I proceeded to disconnect the controller completely from the console, and I connected it directly to my PC(with USB). I played for maybe about an hour, and the games seemed to run worse. I didn't see any major lag, but there was a lot more stuttering. I wasn't
able to continue playing to see if the major lag would appear again, but it seemed like it would've if I had played longer. So, it does seem like having the controller connected to the console directly while streaming runs better.

Tonight I was going to try connecting my controller to my PC, and stream until the major lag shows up again. I will then disconnect the controller from the PC, and connect it directly to the console; I will see if the lag persists after doing that. I will
post an update either later tonight or tomorrow morning on what happens.

  11. So, I connected my controller to my PC and streamed for about 2hrs until the lag showed up. Then I disconnected the controller from the PC and connected it wirelessly to the console. The lag did continue, but there was no stuttering. The lag spikes seemed
to happen almost exactly every 5 minutes. The game would lag for about a minute, and then stop for 5 minutes; then it would start lagging again. I then connected the controller to the console through USB, and the lag seemed to go away. Then I connected back
to the PC and I was able to play for about another hour before the lag returned. So, it seems like when you connect the controller directly to the console with USB, then there is no lag. Also, the lag only impacts the games themselves; not the dashboard. When
the games are lagging I would hit the Guide Button, and the dashboard would have no lag whatsoever.

Xbox One Summer Update - after updating the game streaming to PC keeps disconnecting

    Not wireless.

    All on the same network.

I've just updated the Xbox (Beta) app to version 22.23.4005.00000 and after rebooting some time after the installation, I'm no longer able to stream games on Windows 10 Pro x64 (v1607) (build 14393.351).

I've read through this thread and tried multiple solutions (clearing persistent cache, clearning alternate mac, etc).

The console has a static IP address and all ports have been forwarded through the modem/router (there's only one box since it's from Shaw).

When I turn the Xbox on and run the Xbox Beta app, clicking stream will show the big red screen pop up and tell me streaming is starting. But after the red screen goes down, it shows whatever menu in the xbox app was on before the red screen popped up. And
then it shows "network problems". And then says it lost connection with the console.

Nothing happened to the default Windows Firewall (not using a third-party firewall) rules.

The Xbox Beta app shows its NAT type is "moderate" (since the desktop is NOT static) but NAT type on the console is open (since the console is static).

Isn't there a tool to check certain things like services, dependancies, etc?

I've uninstalled the Xbox Beta app and then reinstalled and rebooted countless times.

I've even unplugged the console for some time and it still won't let me stream gaming.

Prior to the update, streaming games was easy.

Is there no way to rollback to previous version of the app?

I don't use the Windows System Recovery so that's not an option (wouldn't even know how far back to roll to which would have a fucntioning app the way WSR works).

  14. I also just updated my Xbox App Beta to version: 22.23.4005.00000; I have been getting "Lost Connection" error messages as well. I can start streaming and get to the dashboard and start a game. Then right when the game starts it says "Network Quality Problems"
then it says it lost the connection to the console. I just have to click "Stream" again to start playing, but sometimes when I am playing it will lose connection to the console as well.

By the way, when I first started streaming with my Xbox One, I would start a game and it would start normally. For a while now, every time I start a game the screen goes dim, and then it says "Network Quality Problems". That never used to happen, but for
the last couple months it happens every time I start a game. I don't remember when that started happening, but it started months ago.

Also, the stuttering problem from before seems to have gone away for me, but the really bad lag continues to happen. The lag seems to last longer than before; it used to only last 1-3 minutes, and now it lasts about 5 minutes or more. It still only happens
when the games are full screen, and not when you are on the dashboard. When you hit the Guide Button and it minimizes the game, the game doesn't have any lag. When you make the game full screen again the lag shows up again.

I would also like to add that I have tried putting the Xbox console in Energy Saving and then hard resetting (hold button for 5 seconds) and then again in the other Instant On state. Both didn't work.
