XBox one suddenly turned off during videos

Hi everybody,

I'm an owner of an XBox one white version with 500 GB of hard disk.

I bought it one and a half years ago and I never had problems.

Today I installed "Resident Evil Origins Collection" and I started playing Resident Evil 0.

Each time a video session of the game starts the Xbox suddenly turns itself off.

What is the cause?

notification settings aren't working

ive allways had the popup ntoifacations turned off so the don't pop up during video's but ever since the fall update even with them turned off they keep poping up during videos in all the video apps

 

Maybe hacked

just now I was watching Youtube on my Xbox One and suddenly my friend added something to watch later and videos pause and change videos and my controller was off the whole time.

We suggest if it hasn't already been done, to check out our
Xbox Turns off Unexpectedly Troubleshooter. Since the issue could also be stemming from the
actual OS of the console so we would suggest a Soft
Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

I tried to delete the permanent archive, since I don't have problems of overheating and the alimentation cable is in the same comfortable position since one year.

Problem not solved.

I made also the soft factory reset, also in this way the problem is not solved.

To give as much information as possible I can also say that the game block always with the same video sequence, the audio goes further for little second then I heard a noise like "bzzzzzz". After that the console switchs off.

If I jump the video sequence the problem reappears with the next.

Now imI trying to install the complete CD, also Resident Evil 1. Mybe it can help.

If someone has any idea please let me know.

• Is this the only game that affects the console?
• Does this happen with other games?
• What console are you using?

Thank you for your support.

I have an Xbox one white with 500 GB storage.

This problem happen only playing Resident Evil 0 during some cutscenes.

I can exclude overheating because the console is quite cold during the game (tested with my hand on the console).

I have no problems of alimentation because the console has only the cable and it is not damaged.

I also cleaned the persistent storage but the problem persists.

The console has already a wired connection to the internet.

I made a web research and other people with the same problem suppose there is a corrupted file of the game.

Could it be so?

It makes sense since with all other game the problem never happened (the games are all the Assassin's Creed from the first to the third, Brotherhood and Revelation included).

Thanks for reaching out and keeping us updated! We understand this can be confusing. We want to try our best to assist so thanks for all the information. So, when loading Resident Evil Origins Collection from a disc, during certain cutscenes the console
will completely shut off? The console does not overheat and the cable is fine.

I do think it could be a corrupt file. It would be best to
uninstall the Resident Evil Game and reinstall it. Another option is to also uninstall the last game that was installed before Resident Evil.

Thank you everybody to continue to answer, it is very nice from your side.

Anyway, to keep you updated, now I uninstalled the game and I gave it back to the store since I had an insurance on the game (thanks also to GameStop). Within this Wednesday I should receive a new copy and I will try to install it again.

If it doesn't work I will uninstall also the previous game.

Just for information now I installed Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and everything is going fine.

I will keep you updated.

Wow I would never think of a game that could mess like that a console to the point it shuts
ot down...

 

This is the second time I’ve seen this issue with this game. Sadly the only workaround I’ve found is to skip the cutscenes.

Last (and I think least) update of the problem:

- new disk arrived

- installed again

- made a new game in order to avoid any link with the previous game

- PROBLEM NOT SOLVED, it always blocks itself at the same cutscene and turn off my Xbox

Sadly I don't know what I can do, my ideas are ended.

On my side I don't think it is an error of the console, the other games work perfectly.

Any ideas? The solution to skip every cutscene does not attract me so much...

At this point since we have tried just about everything I suggest getting with the developer

Capcom support and see if they are able to help with this issue due to its an in game issue.
