XBox One Suddenly Getting Teredo Errors on WIRED Connection

    Hi

I'm really hoping someone can help me out here. I've been struggling with this issue for 2 weeks.

My XBox One X (NOT the Series X) is no longer able to connect to the internet via a wired connection. The device is connected to my router (Asus AX89X) via Ethernet. The router is on another floor, so I have CAT6 going through the walls to the other floor. The router is functioning as my DHCP server and all devices connecting to it are getting IP addresses (including the XBox).

When I power the device on and an Ethernet cable is connected I cannot connect to online services (such as Game Pass, Netflix, Plex etc). It WILL connect if I switch to WiFi connection. When I look at network properties for the wired connection I see NAT Type is "Unavailable" and that it cannot get a connection to Teredo.

In addition to connecting via WiFi I took it to a repair shop to check out the Ethernet port itself. It was working for them on a wired connection, so it looks like a router settings issue. I've assigned it a static IP, made sure that necessary ports are being forwarded correctly, even reset the console itself but nothing worked. Tried an alternate port and cleared the Alternate MAC address on the console. Again, no love.

My router is not running IPv6 (don't know what settings I should use for XBox IPv6 tunneling).

Anyone come across this before or could suggest things to try?

    Sincere things in advance

    :)

    SOLVED !!

I figured it out myself but it was a weird one.

I'm using an Aaris SB8200 cable modem that connects to my router. The SB8200 has 2 Ethernet ports (if you have a second public IP from your ISP and wanted to run link aggregation). I had my router connected to port 1.

I unplugged power to the Aaris and removed the cable from port 1. I waited 30 seconds then plugged power back in. As the Aaris was reconnecting to my ISP I plugged the cable from my router into Port 2 of the SB8200. That was it !! Everything back and working. I'm still not sure why this worked but at this point I'll take it and run 😀

It was the last thing I tried because I had constantly power cycled the modem and router but each time the cable was plugged into the Ethernet port on the SB. Removing the cable and connecting it back during the modem connection cycle made the difference, so I'm guessing some connection specific data was stored on the modem.

Hope this proves useful for someone else.

Odd! Have you tried contacting your ISP to see if everything is in order?

Hi there Mark welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Something that should help is opening ports! Ever since I opened them my games download and run faster! Give it a try!

    Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 80 (TCP)

    Port 88 (UDP)

    Port 500 (UDP)

    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

    Hi Christopher,

Thanks so much for the quick reply 😀

All the ports you listed are open and forwarded EXCEPT port 53, which is DNS. I have DNS servers in my home network, so I keep this closed.

    Best regards,

    Mark
