  1. Xbox One sudden connection problems

I've been using the same setup since ive had my Xbox one, now all of a sudden i have such terrible connectivity. I've tried hard reset, clearing persistent storage, resetting router, and using a wired connection. I've contacted support, we went through
all of this, so i was told to contact my isp. Nothing seems to be wrong on their end.

I tested my internets connection speeds, my laptops get 45 MB down/10 up

my xbox gets 5 mbs down/10 up

I can hardly play anything now and i have no idea what to do. i was hoping this would be resolved by the time neverwinter came out on xbox one, but unfortunately it has not.

I was thinking it could be the xbox one product itself, but i'm not sure how to check it.

    :)

    NFS connecting to EA servers?

I started having this problem a couple of days ago.
Have been playing since November and then all of a sudden can not connect.
EA says they are aware and to go to their website and give more information, but there is a problem with even trying to post there.

lost xboxlive connection while playing Battlefield 3. there is nothing wrong with the modem or my router. ISP is working perfectly and I just lost xbox live connection all the sudden. there was no lag or any other hint that i was having connection problems
and all the sudden I lost connection to xbox live. this is not the first time this had happened. last time there was a service announcement, there is nothing listed in the status right now, so please tell me what the hell is going on?

You're X Box should be getting roughly the same as your laptop. A lot of variable come into play...How far is your X Box away from your router (Is your laptop much closer?), hardwired or wireless? Open ports? Is your X Box prioritized on your network? Etc..

My X Box is farther away than my laptop yet still gets the same speeds; the only thing different is my ping is usually slightly higher, and that can be attributed to using M.S. servers while doing the test for the X1 as opposed to speedtest on my other equipment.

    Peace, J.R.

    Sudden network connection problem

    Hi taidara,

    now it works!

My suggestion was right, the MAC address of which I thought belongs to the XBox really belongs to it.

The behaviour was really interesting: After turning on the XBox360 today it got 192.168.0.185, that's the IP address from the DHCP pool which it got on monday the first time I started it.

Before I tried to connect to XBox Live I did a connection test, and what happened? IP address error, and the IP switched from 192.168.0.185 to a 169.x.x.x. So the problem seems clear: The DHCP server of DD-WRT seems to have problems with the XBox 360, or
I have settings which don't work with the console.

To make it short: I set the 360 to a static IP, deleted the DHCP lease of the console's MAC address and voila: it works perfectly!

Thanks again for your hints, because I would have never looked in the DHCP pool which lead me to the source of the problem.

    Sudden network connection problem

    Hey there M3ikl!

Could you post up the make and model of your modem as well.

If you look up the DHCP server on your router what is the IP pool starting and ending address?

Make sure UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) on your router is enabled.

If you restore your Xbox network settings to defaults and restart your console. Could you tell us what the IP address the Xbox obtains from the DHCP server or if its an unusable 169 IP address.

    Thanks!

    Sudden network connection problem

    Hi taidara,

the modem is a Turbolink 1203 by sphairon which I got from my ISP (M-Net in Germany).

The DHCP range begins at 192.168.0.180 and is set to a maximum of 50 users, so it would stop at 192.168.0.229 if I calculated correctly.

The UPnP function in the router was disabled. I set it to enabled.

I just checked how many IPs are in the DHCP pool at the moment and saw an interesting value:

The only DHCP IP is 192.168.0.185. Hostname is unknown, but the MAC address starts with 7C:1E:52 which belongs to Microsoft. I will check if the MAC address belongs to the XBox 360. Perhaps the lease of 1440 mins (= 24 hrs) is too long for the XBox? Something
very strange is, that the PC I used some hours ago isn't listed in the DHCP lease list (the lease isn't over at the moment), but the lease of which I think is from the XBox was from one day before which would be expired is still listed. It is usual that the
PC from where I am posting right now isn't listed, it has a static IP.

Tomorrow I can tell you more about these strange DHCP values and which IP the XBox got when I restarted it and resetted the settings to default. It's 1 am here now and I need some sleep ;-)

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards,
