    Xbox One Stuck Updating - Can't Get Any Apps or Games to Work


    • So my Xbox One has just updated.
    • When the update was complete my TV had no audio.
    • When I do a hard restart (restart from settings or hold down X button on console) my console starts up and start mid installation and finishes the instillation in a minute or two.
    • After the update is done - same issue.
    • If I do a soft restart and just turn the Xbox off and turn it back on - the TV now works and I have audio
    • However no games or apps work
    • So right now my Xbox is in a state of hard restart and nothing working
    • Soft restart and only the TV works
    • I have looked up an apparently the preview program has caused a lot of issues
    • When I try to look on my Xbox and try to launch the insider hub - it doesn't work (because I can't get any apps to work)
    • I tried to use my laptop to install the insider hub on there and opt-out of any preview program I may still be a part of - the program will not install to my laptop
    • I am completely stuck and I have been a loyal Xbox user for... I am not even sure now 12 years, 15 years...
    • I need to figure out how to fix this issue

    Hard,

    Dont bother with their suggestion. As someone said it doesnt do anything. Bowever i did try my box this morning and i was able to open overwatch off my hard drive.

    I am not too hard on the forum support, it most likely is a bot and they were hit pretty hard today witb suoport requests.

    I dont understand. This still doesnt help the fact that everytime I do a hard reboot my xbox is trying to update. I havent had time to do this yet but... this I dont think is going to be the answer. Also in your instructions the first step is a reboot...
    which doesnt work. Because the update... what kind of support is this!?

    There was a service alert up yesterday that affected a lot of users. I think a quick power cycle or clearing the MAC address should fix things today if the issue still persists.

    Same issue. Had same message. Now it is just not moving past power cycling on with a black screen. Worked this morning early.
