    Does anyone know of a fix for an xbox one which won't come off mute despite buying new headsets & trying different controllers? We've reset the console & revised all relevant settings to no avail. I see this appears to be a common problem when I Googled
    it, my son is very unhappy after getting new accessories from santa & STILL not being able to join in on parties! This issue hadn't occurred up until about 5 weeks ago.

    I've contacted Microsoft also who advised to try an xbox headset (as opposed to Turtle Beach) I'm dubious about this being the solution!

    Its been working for year and a half, but after a new payment for Xbox live completely muted?

    New controllers, new headphones, new updates and trying everything else.

    Its I console bug, which they need to sort out or it goes back to the shop!

    UPDATE... We purchased a 3.5mm adapter for the controller and the headset is now working! An extra £25 but my son is delighted. Thanks for all your feedback!

    Hello Musty,

    As turtle beach is a third party headset as well s others. That is why the agent was having you try an Xbox one chat headset or stereo headset. These are made by Microsoft so first party headsets. With third party there is only so much troubleshooting we
    can do. Updates that come out I have noticed affect a lot of third party headsets.

    Also if the headset plugs directly into the controller via 3.5mm jack you can purchase an adapter. This way help with the issue.

    I would also check in the Settings on the console under the Audio options. If everything looks good there, I would look at this troubleshooting article about the audio with a headset when trying to use it with the Xbox One. Hopefully this helps. :)
