    Xbox One stuck on headset audio


    All of a sudden after playing Dauntless, my console is stuck on Headset Audio despite not having used my headphones recently. Tried resetting and updating my controller, nothing fixes it and it happens no matter what controller I use. HELP

    What does the soft reset change(so I know what to go back and customize again)? And how I do that?

    Power cycling didn't help.

    What do your audio settings look like under settings? I found another thread with this problem earlier this month but there was not a resolution due to the poster not following up with additional info.
    They look fairly normal as if the headset is plugged in. But if I change it from Windows Sonic to Uncompressed Stereo the top two speaker audios change to that as well, and then ALL of my audio sounds messed up.

    As you can see in the photo it thinks a headset is plugged in, but it does it with both controllers I have so it's not a controller issue. Everything is updated. I am in the mid tier preview program too, so it may be to do with that. I've already reported
    it on my console.

    Update: it now works with headset audio set to stereo uncompressed. Previously the TV sound went funky when I set it to that, now it works fine....but I'm still stuck in headset mode with no headset attached.

    Soft Reset did not work, still on headset audio.

    It's definitely in the software, perhaps a preview bug.
