    Xbox One stuck on black screen


    Just got my Xbox One maybe 2 weeks ago. Everything had been working fine up until a few days ago. I unplugged and moved everything in the entertainment center to clean up and whatnot. After plugging the console back in, I keep having the same issue of
    the console loading up, showing the logo and then sitting at a blank screen. I've been dealing with this for 3 days now. I've power cycled the Xbox countless times. I've checked all the cables. I thought it might have been an issue with the HDMI cable
    but I've tried all 3 that I have. I've tried both HDMI ports on the TV in the living room and both on the TV in the bedroom. One post on here implied that people with this problem are impatient and must wait on the dashboard to load. I'm sorry but after
    letting it sit there for 4-5 hours on a black screen my patience is wearing pretty thin. I shouldn't have to be dealing with this crap on a console I've only used maybe 3 or 4 times in the 2 weeks I've owned it. I thought this kind of stuff would have been
    sorted out by now. I didn't pick one up at launch because I figured waiting around a year would give Microsoft time to fix the bugs they almost always have. I should have known better after currently being on my 4th 360.

    Just had the same issue and resolved it with this
    support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool    . You'll need a flash drive. I downloaded the "Restore Factory Defaults" file because the OSUDT2 didn't work. You'll lose all your saved stuff though. Alternative is to send it the Microsoft.

    FYI, i think this is caused by unplugging the system from the power supply. I always unplug mine when not in use.

    What do you mean it opens at your home screen and then nothing? Are you stuck on the dashboard or is it a black or green screen?

    If you are stuck on a black or green screen you can try the offline diagnostic tool that has helped people get passed the blank screen before:

    Update: Screen went black, I think Xbox auto shut off. When I turned it back on It looks as though it was starting up normally but now it's stuck on the Xbox One start up screen.
