Xbox One stuck on black screen after boot up

I'm experiencing the same problem. It began yesterday on Christmas. Early in the morning my Xbox One worked fine, but wouldn't connect to live. Then after connecting my new headset and changing settings, I turned on the console and it started with a green
screen that shows the xbox logo and three dots that load. This screen appeared for a few seconds and then it went black. I have waited for 30 minutes and the screen still stays black. After countless tries of power-cycling, trying different HDMI cables and
ports it randomly worked once yesterday and I could connect to Xbox Live. Although, after turning off the console the problem reoccurred and didn't work the rest of Christmas night or at all today. I have continued to try to power-cycle it and troubleshoot
it, but it continues to go to a black screen. Any solution to fix this problem from Xbox support would be helpful. Thank you.

 

When I had the xbox one working after the black screen, Netflix was freezing on me so I turned off the console and tried to turn it on, but that's when the problem reoccurred. I hope this problem gets some more recognition and gets fixed because it seems
that it's been happening to a lot of users recently.

 

I'm having pretty much the same problem. Not getting a black screen but it's frozen on the home screen. Tried moving around through kinect but won't let me get past games and apps. I've tried the power cycle but I don't have any other hdmi cords to try
the other solutions. Any help on where I go from here would be appreciated.

 

This is the second time my xbox has done this exact thing. About four months ago it forced me to manually update the *** thing, only to discover that now its doing it again. except this time it wont let me do another manual update nor will it even let me
do a restore to factory settings. I have tried everything suggested to me by "xbox support" but nothing works no matter how many times I do it.

 

lol at this topic, because the same thing happened to me ~2 days ago. Dashboard was extremely unresponsive so I tried to turn it off. Had to hard reset it, which lead to this black screen issue. I believe I tried power cycling it a few times and then just
left it on for a couple minutes and it booted up, but the next day I still had some strange dashboard unresponsiveness. It has been working fine since.

If the network is spotty (which it is at my parents house where I am now) then it occurs [one theory]. I disabled the network and it worked fine since, then when the network has been stable I have reconnected and it still works.

 

Also, one thing I hate the most is a CSR telling you to change hdmi cables or test another slot in your tv, when in fact that is not the issue. I can understand that in VERY rare moments a hdmi cable or the hdmi-in on your tv may go bad, but this shouldn't
be anywhere near the first responses from a CSR.

 

i just tried to leave it on for a couple minutes, yet it still stays a black screen. I have waited up to 30 minutes to see if it will appear, but it never does. I tried your one theory that the network is causing it, and that did not work either. My xbox
has continued to have this problem for 3 days now and its unfortunate that I can't play during the holidays. Please come up with another solution other than power-cycling, switching HDMI cables or ports because i have tried all of those. Also, my friends have
told that me that after i boot up my console, my profile appears online and then goes offline once I turn it off, but my TV is just showing a black screen. Plus, the smart glass app connects to my xbox after it boots up and shows the green screen.

 

Same problem and Microsoft expects the customer to pay for their defect. Ridiculous.

 

Same thing happened to my sons new xbox today.3 days use. A load of b##locks. 9 year old son now had his xmas holiday ruined. To top it off i bought my self a playstation 4 and yes it works fine so now my son thinks the xbox 1 is junk. I hope game will
exchange my unit. Whatchdog will love this when i email them if my son has to do without his console. Not a appy man

 

The money my son has spent with xbox 360 on gamer cards,points to now get the xbox1 to have this after 3 days use. See if xbox have the decency to email me about this or leave my son without his console until i contact them by the looks of the messages

I have been experiencing the same problems, black screen after start up. Halo froze went back to dashboard and couldn't do anything from there. Did a hard reset and only get a black screen after start up.

Same thing & similar situations are happening to me as well. Xbox better be reading these forums & figuring out how to fix these issues. I've had my Xbox One for over a year now & it's been working great until the freaking Lizard Squad hack. Now, I'm having
all these problems.

 

I have same issue. My son tries to play madden 15 and screen goes black. We have to unplug and the plug back in and so far that's done the trick. Still you shouldn't have to do this. The other issue we have is sometimes the screen just freezes and the
remote can't do anything. We have to unplug again. These issues happen daily.
