    xbox one stuck in 640x480

So i've noticed this thread a bit and not many solutions but after a few hours of being nothing but relentless to get my Xbox to 1080p i finally solved it.
(SOLUTION AT THE BELOW) I turned my xbox on and for some reason it was in 480p, but less than 12 hours ago it was perfectly fine.

For me this is because i switch from my tv to my gaming monitor with HDMI extender cables when ever i'm just chilling on YouTube or a single player game to playing competitive with my friends. I'm not to sure if this is the actual reason or whether it's
a hardware problem with my xboxs EDID. but none the less from what i could understand the only solution was either send my xbox off to microsoft to be looked at and fixed or my solution i have here.

    SOLUTION:

Use a PC monitor and plug your xbox into it with a HDMI and then go to settings on the monitor and up the aspect ratio as much as you can to a bigger picture on your screen. Then go to settings on the xbox and 1080p should be a choice in the video output.
IF THIS DOESN'T WORK THEN TRY DOING IT WITH A TV.

Why i used a PC monitor: For some reason on my tv i couldn't set the aspect ratio any bigger than what it was as the tv loaded the whole screen just in a lower resolution. But a PC monitor or Gaming Benq monitor doesn't stretch the screen
and only loads it as that video display output and will only use the pixels on the screen to display what it's out putting to a crisp. Your TV maybe different though so give it a try anyways.

    :)

I had the same problem. After messing around in settings I found a solution that worked for me. Go to "Display & Sound" in the setting menu. Select "TV connection" and set it to anything except auto-select. I think the tv and console are having trouble communicating
which makes it select incorrectly. From there select the right resolution for your tv and problem solved. Hope this helps you guys.

    Hi Boom,

Thanks for the link but nothing from the thread or these others have helped.

There are a few others I tried from non-microsoft forums but they just repeat the same troubleshooting suggestions from above.
