Xbox one struggles to read discs.

Does anyone else have issues with their Xbox One reading discs? For me the console will suck the disc up but wont register it unless I enter it like 4 or 5 times.

Sometimes I have to unplug the console from the wall completly.

Its obviously a fault, because microsoft obviously didnt want me to spend £420 on this console to be struggling to read games.

Am I the only one with this issue, for me it only started happening when I signed up for the preview program and it launched in April, thats when it started happening I think, I remember a few others mentioning it too.

Disc fake scratch problem

Hello gamer,

for sake of your disc tray is better to use your console horizontally, this leads to a smooth reading of the discs. Those "fake scratches" you are experiencing are caused by the dust gathered in the reading lens of your console that now struggle to read
the game discs.

Xbox One Discs Sometimes Won't Read - Repeatable scenario!

I'm having this problem too, but only with Xbox 360 discs, Xbox One discs are read instantly, but I have to keep ejecting the 360 discs and reinserting them about 20 times before they read, it's getting very annoying now

I had this issue in the past. Try the following steps:

1. Go to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray

2. Uncheck Enable BD Live

3. Click on Clear Persistent Storage

4. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down

If that doesn't fix the issue then you will need to send it in for a warranty repair.

That's unfortunate. As I mentioned, I had the same problem in the past. You can either click the link below to set up a repair for the console or call phone support to set up an advance exchange. The advance exchange requires a hold for the cost of a
console on your credit card (it will not be taken off) and they will send you a console. You would then pack up the existing console and return it back to them. When they receive your defective one they will remove the hold.

You can call phone support to arrange this if you like. In North America dial 1-800-469-9269

hmm this could be just coincidence that the disc worked whilst offline it could be the disk is damaged and struggles to read whilst online try cleaning the disc with disc cleaner its most likely the disc. if that fails try installing the game to the xbox
so it wont have to read the disc but the disc will still need inserting to do this click x whilst the play game is highlighted and you will find a button saying x game details hope I helped
