Xbox one struggles to display some games

    Hi everyone,

I've had an issue with my xbox for about 2 years now where it just struggles with some games.

I first noticed it on Forza Horizon 2, where it would flicker little pink dots/lights. I thought it was just forza and ignored it. Then tried to play watchdogs, and this time the screen would just randomly go black in places as if it struggled to display,
kind of like it couldnt cope with the rendering??

I asked the microsoft team themselvrs and they said speak to Ubisoft. Spoke to Ubisoft and they said speak to Microsoft...

Over a year later and the issue has come back when trying to play For Honor. It will be fine standing still but then if i look at something that requires some rendering power, it just gives up and flickers black. I can only compare to trying to play a game
on "ultra" settings without a good enoghh graphics card.

Has anyone had the same issue before?

Original bog standard 500GB Xbox one, not an S or an X. I've swapped my HDMI & TV so it cant be that. I kind of know that the answer will be "go buy an X" but i would like to just fix it if possible.

    Thank you in advance!

    :)

What splitter have you got? Some cheap ones that are self powered may struggle to output a picture

Xbox 360 games not visible on "My Games" list on the xbox.com site

Hi! This is nothing to worry about as the xbox.com website currently struggles when trying to display certain areas of your profile like games, achievements and other things. As long as you can see those games on your console everything's fine.

    Hi Joshua,

I told Ubisoft that Microsoft sent me to them and they said its still not their issue as thr game is essentially working as it should, its my xbox that is struggling. But telling Microsoft that got me nowhere.

I even recorded the glitch and put it a. On yotube b. On my profile and c. Directly send it via email yo them and on all occasions they (Microsoft) said "Thats a problem with the gamr, speak yo Ubisoft". Basically they didnt want to help.

Now im not saying customer service are at fault at all, to be honest they've helped me so much in the past with account problems etc that I'd never say a bad word about them.

Back on topic though... If anyone else has had an issue with their xbox struggling to render certain games, let me know.

    Hello, thanks for the update.

To what it looks to me, it's possibly a hardware fault.

If the game is on disc, please try running a
    disc troubleshoot

I'm afraid everything else is beyond our capacity of supporting you.

The only suggestion I can give you is either self-repair, or simply get a new Xbox.

Have you tried playing Games that are not Ubisoft, and do they work perfectly fine?

  9. Seems to me from reading your post and looking online that is either a bug on the dev side or faulty hardware.

Hope it gets resolved for you soon!

If it has happened on more than one game like you said it has then its definitely not the game developers issue.

It’s most likely a hardware or TV issue. If you try it on a different TV and the issue persists, then I’d look at getting a repair. It’s most likely out of warranty so you’ll pay almost the same amount you can buy a new S for.

Hi! Have you tried performing the common troubleshooting steps like a

    power cycle/hard reset
    or
    factory reset
? Beyond that I haven't had experience with this issue unfortunately.
