    XBOX ONE Strange fan noise


    I have this issue too, only when idle! Kinectless model. This is defeating after dropping $400 bucks on it. If it is the update that causes this to start happening, why the heck hasn't it been patched? I am seriously considering just taking it back and waiting
    a few more months. Too bad for me because I was having a lot of fun with Guacemelee.

    I think I will ship my console to Microsoft. No point in getting my retailer to replace it in order to get another defective one.

    More searching around has lead me to believe that its the HDD which is very noisy. Why does this only happen on the dashboard and not when running games or loading things?!?! I'd really like some insights here.

    Could it, in fact, be the hard-drive? Because its silent while gaming/watching clips, starts making the noise when I don't do anything and its in the menu.

    BUMP, I don't want to spam the forums but my research into what is wrong with the thing needs some help! Is there any way I can fix this and avoid replacing it (and waiting a while in the process)?
