Xbox one strange controller issue

Until 2 days ago I could power on and off my xbox one with the controller, but now when its off and i push the xbox button on the controller only the controller powers on. I am forced to walk over to my console and touch its power button. Once its on it
works as intended so it cant be a syncing problem. However, if I turn the system off by using the controller, the system shuts down but the controller stays on. Like some strange disconnect. I tried u pluging the console and it worked just the once. Once
it got back on the problem returned. I tried turning instant on off and that fixed the problem, but i lose the instant on functionality so thats no fix. On a related note, my kinect never responds to the "xbox on" command. I eventried several videos and the
Paul Aron ad that people claim where turning their systems on just in case my accent was wrong but it just never works. Every other command works normal (as normal as kinect voice command recognition gets that is...)

Strange controller issue

@Bimnog - I have several controllers but they all need charging don't they? Having to resync is pain because I have to do it everyday since I charge my controller every night.

A popup asking weather I wanted to "Charge controller" or "Use with this PC" might be helpful. It would therefore be logical for it to pair with the PC and me having to resync with the console when I'm ready to use with the console. Even better would be
to set a default action - charge or use.

@Genesis - I'm using a USB powered external drive so it's BUS powered.

I'd like an option to choose what I want to do. Surely Microsoft knows people may move their controller between their console and computer.

 

Try a Hard Reset: 5 sec Holding PowerButton wait until powersupply light goes orange unplug AC wait 30+sec Restart.

I tried this several times but it only fixes it temporarily. It soon goes back to not turning the controller off when shutting down and then being unable to power on the system with the controller. Kinect is as unresponsive as ever.

 

Hey Pepe - this was an issue in the latest update (1407.) The engineers are aware of it and are working to fix the issue. As of right now, the temporary fix of doing a hard reboot is the only resolution, but they are working on a permanent fix for the controller
failing to power up the console, the controller failing to turn off when the console is shut down, as well as various issues where the controller loses connection temporarily.

 

Thanks for the heads up. I thought that might be the problem but could not find any news to confirm it.
