    I have recently added a 2TB external hard drive to my Xbox one. Why is it even though I have an external hard drive attached it still needs to install some parts of games on internal storage. I have noticed this with GTA V and rare replay. it means I have
    to remove things from my internal drive to make space. I thought the whole point of having an external drive so all of the game is supposed to be stored on it. Not part internal and part external. has anyone else had the same issue?

    If I tell it to store on drive 2 why does it ask me to make space on internal drive, why not store all on external drive?

    Cant say I've ever had that problem, I know there is a setting in the system setting somewhere that say install all games to drive X.

    The only thing I can think of is have you copied all of your games over to the external drive? I thought it would do it automatically when I plugged in a new drive, but I had to do it manually. So if you haven't done this, it would explain why GTA5 is always
    asking for more space.

    Hi mate thank you for replying. I asked GTA V to install on external which it has done but certain files had to be put on internal drive. When I Intially installed GTA V I had no space in install internally anyway, I formatted everything normally as per
    requirements by Xbox. it installed 4-5gig on internal then the rest on external.

    this is strange, I have never had this. All my GTA data is on external.. Have you heard of anyone else having the issue?

    No this is weird Mate. How full is your internal drive. two games I noticed it on were GTA 5 and rare replay

    This is a strange one, ever since I set up my External HDD every game has always fully installed on it with no issues at all.

    Unfortunately, once the saved data from your internal and cloud storage has been deleted, it cannot be recovered.

    I have already looked at amazon thank you very much. i just told you the price of the one at game i didn't say I was going to buy it and not really 'mugging myself off' because all I did was have a look online. Why did you asume I was looking for a place
    to buy a hardrive. To next not get confused next time look and see if someone actually asks you a question.
