    Why is it that no matter how much I try, I cannot EVER get a hard drive/flash drive to properly connect to my Xbox? It ALWAYS ends up with my Xbox not reading it, or it'll read it long enough for me to start a game only to then suddenly not be able to find it and boot me out of the game. I have all my settings set to what all the Microsoft things tell me to, and yet it still wont work. I spent over $500 on just hard drives, not to mention my flash drives, and at this point I just want to get my money back and get a PlayStation instead. Any external storage I get always starts out working flawlessly with my Xbox, then just suddenly stops one day and won't work anymore. It'll still work on EVERYTHING else I have, just not my Xbox one. And why, if the Xbox is a GAME CONSOLE, does the Xbox have such small storage capacity to STORE GAMES in the first place? I love playing my xbox, don't get me wrong, I love the community, the games, the feel of the controller, and even all my friends on xbox. I still have my original xbox with the original Halo CE on it, Juiced and other of my favorite games. I want my xbox to work, I want to enjoy all my games, that's why I'm so frustrated that I can't do so. Please, if ANYONE can help me, I'm open to just about any solutions.

    Hi there, could you please try another storage medium .e.g. an external storage drive? if this works with the new device, your previous storage could be malfunctioning.

    Umm... have you maxed out your Xbox Storage?

    But to the like of it, your Xbox sounds to be malfunctioning well.

    A new storage unit is highly unlikely to give you the same error. Before buying a new storage unit, I'd highly suggest formatting your current one. The Installation Stopped error may be coming up due to corrupted data and not a hardware malfunction.

    You can do so by going to Settings > System > Storage devices > [Your external storage unit] > Format

    To clarify, did you try the factory reset I mentioned?

    Sometimes a corrupted/malfunctioning external storage unit can cause this kind of problem. Please unplug your external storage unit and run the games from the console's internal storage instead.

    If it's only one game that you are currently having trouble with, you could also try reinstalling it.

    Please let me know if that works.
