    Xbox One Storage issues


    Hi,

    I have a Xbox One and the storage on that is way too less. I also have a spare internal 1TB HDD, that belonged to my laptop. I wanted to ask that can I get that HDD fitted into my Xbox One from Microsoft only so that it stays i warranty as well and I get
    an upgraded storage also.

    The HDD is a 2.5" form factor one, 1TB, 7200 rpm.

    Xbox combined storage issue

    When you go into "My Games & Apps". Make sure you're highlighting in "Games", top left-hand column. D-pad right and at the top of the screen are 4 drop-down boxes. These are your 'Storage filters'. Select the 4th one and set it to "All Storage". -- That should fix your issue.

    Xbox combined storage issue

    So, I have an external hard drive for my Xbox one, in the past I was able to see all combined storage for all games installed in both internal and external storage. But since I messed around with settings I can now only see either internal or external storage at a time. It is annoying to keep trying to switch back and forth to find a game. I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to see all the games at the same time.

    How can I see combined storage for the games again?

    Hey joy211191! At this time there is not a way to change the HDD in the console without voiding the warranty. Thanks!

    Have you tried power cycling the console yet?

    1: Push and hold power button on console until console turns off

    2: Unplug the power cord from the console for 30 seconds

    3: Plug back in and power it back on with the console power button

    Let us know if that fixes it

    The system, brand new on release day, took up about 111 gigs on the hard drive. This is the allocated space for the OS, massive files of firmware and drivers that have to incorporate the myriad devices they either have for it or have planned for it, and
    then of course the cache space which if I heard right is roughly 30 gigs.

    Now with all the system updates and what not, that number has grown.

    The good news is, part of the firmware and driver files already installed does include the needed software to support incorporating an external HDD. And not just an MS branded one, but any external HDD. It's what that USB 3.0 slot on the left side is made
    for. According to a release they had a little while back, it should be available by this summer.

    Yeah, it does seem like the operating systems take up a lot of room. There's probably also a chunk of space received as a cache. You lose about 35GB due to formatting, but that still means that the OS/cache take up about 100GB which is a lot!
